You have heard these before. Maybe you have repeated a few of them yourself. Some hold up. Some really do not.

No single symptom or habit determines your health. But there are a few overlooked signals that often suggest your body is working well.

Six signs your health may be moving in the right direction:

1. Your energy stays fairly stable through the day, without major crashes.

2. You recover reasonably well after exercise, stress, or a rough night of sleep.

3. Your digestion is predictable most days.

4. Your resting heart rate and blood pressure sit in a healthy range for you.

5. You can build or maintain muscle with training.

6. Your sleep leaves you feeling restored most nights.

These are useful clues, but they don't replace prevention, biomarker testing, cancer screening, or cardiovascular risk assessment. The goal isn't to obsess over every signal. It's to understand the pattern.

Vitamin D, magnesium, omega-3, creatine, probiotics, B12. All solid, all backed by research, and they each do something real for your body.

But just because a supplement is good doesn't mean you actually need it. A good routine isn't about taking more stuff. It's about taking what your body is actually missing.

That's why we start with testing. It shows you what you need instead of you just guessing and hoping.

Welcome to part two of Extend Your Lifespan, a series where we break down how to live better, longer.

When people ask how to extend lifespan, the answer is less fancy than most expect. It comes down to mainly three levers, each backed by far stronger evidence than most longevity trends or bio-hacks.

The first is cardiorespiratory fitness, moving enough to improve your heart, lungs, blood pressure, and endurance. The second is muscle, where strength training preserves function, glucose control, bone health, and independence. The third is risk factor control: blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, sleep, smoking, alcohol, and body composition.

Longevity medicine should start with these fundamentals, then use testing to personalize what comes next. At LifespanMD, we build a measurable health plan, not chase trends.

Follow along for part three of Extend Your Lifespan. ✨

Big news for LifespanMD clients: 24/7 virtual care is now live.

Through a partnership with Cleveland Clinic Canada, every active client now has no-charge access to Express Care Online, available Canada-wide. That means you can reach a clinician when you need one, especially after hours when our office is closed.

It does not replace the care you get with us. It extends it, so support is there even when our doors are not open.

Active clients, check your email for details on how to access it.

Two people can lose the same amount of weight and end up in completely different places.

It comes down to what they actually lost. Weight loss is a mix of fat and muscle, and the scale can't tell the two apart. On a GLP-1, fast weight loss often takes muscle along with the fat, and that's the muscle that keeps you strong, keeps your metabolism going, and keeps you independent as you get older.

So one person holds onto their strength. The other ends up weaker and more fragile, even though the scale says they did great.

That's why what you're made of matters more than what you weigh, and it's the part we pay attention to at LifespanMD.

Here's a 10-second test researchers have linked to how long you might live.

It's called the sitting-rising test: you sit down on the floor and stand back up using as little support as possible. The less you rely on your hands or knees, the better.

Simple as it looks, it reflects the things that quietly shape how you age, strength, balance and flexibility working together.

Want to try it? Find a clear space near something sturdy, and see how you do! ✨

May is National Physical Fitness Month.

Most people track fitness using steps or calories—but these don’t reflect how the body performs under stress.

VO₂ max measures how efficiently your body uses oxygen during exercise and is a key indicator of cardiorespiratory fitness. Higher levels are associated with improved health outcomes and longevity.

If we had 60 days to start improving your health, this is where we’d begin

First, we’d take the time to understand exactly where you’re at - not guessing, but building a clear picture through detailed intake, comprehensive biomarker testing, and a full assessment of your current health.

That includes looking at how your body is functioning in practice - through fitness testing like strength, cardiovascular recovery, flexibility, and stability, along with body composition insights such as visceral fat, muscle mass, metabolic rate, and posture.

Because most people are trying to improve their health without ever seeing the full picture. And when something is missed, progress becomes inconsistent.

From there, we’d bring in nutrition support and clinical oversight - working with a registered dietitian and physician to compile all of your data into a clear, personalized plan. One that reflects your body, your goals, and your risks.

And then it becomes about consistency. Tracking progress over time, reassessing key markers, and making adjustments so you’re moving forward with intention - not reacting later.

At LifespanMD, we take pride in personalization - because no two individuals, and no two plans, are the same.

Follow for more on how we approach health, longevity, and evidence-based care.
