🎤🎉 A Special Performance & Retirement Celebration at Valley Stream! 🥨💛

On Tuesday, we welcomed the wonderful Roxy Swan back for another amazing performance! 🎶 This time, she helped us celebrate a very special occasion — Karen’s retirement! 🥳

Our residents enjoyed the great music Karen has arranged to come in over the years, this time though the team organized some party chips and salsa, baked pretzels, and drinks as we celebrated Karen and all she has done for our community. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU, Karen, for your dedication, service, and leadership of our Activities Department. You will be missed, but we wish you a happy, relaxing, and wonderful retirement! 🌷🥂

Enjoy every minute — you’ve earned it! 💐💖

🌟💙 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – MUDRA! 💙🌟

A big congratulations to Mudra, our September Employee of the Month! 🎉👏 Even more special, Mudra was nominated by one of our residents! 🥰Check out our Joyful Moments board down by the library and staff room where you can see the kind compliments and add your own.

Mudra has been part of the Valley Stream team as a PSW since December 2025. She brings a positive attitude to each and every day and truly takes the time to understand our residents’ needs and feelings. 💕 Her caring nature shines through in everything she does!

🕺✌️ Groovy Grandparents Day at Valley Stream! 🌼🪩
We kicked off fall with our National Open House this past sunday, but this wasn’t just any Open House… it was totally ’70s! 🌈☮️
Our amazing staff worked hard transforming Valley Stream with colorful, groovy decorations, while our culinary team kept the treats table going all afternoon! 🍪🍍🧀
From potato chip cookies, cakes and jellied salads to a delicious cheese platter and, of course, our fabulous Shirley Temple fountain drink! 🍒🥤
And what’s a party without music? 🎶 Rick Leben had everyone enjoying the afternoon with some great entertainment! 🎤🎸
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us on Sunday and helped make our Groovy Grandparents Day so special! ❤️

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

Today is a great reminder that even the smallest actions can make a meaningful difference in caring for our planet. Across our residences, we’re proud to see residents and team members embracing simple, sustainable choices - from reducing waste and conserving energy to enjoying the beauty of nature in our outdoor spaces.

Earth Day is also an opportunity to connect with each other and with the world around us. Whether it’s a walk outside, planting something new, or finding ways to be more mindful of our impact, every step counts.

Let’s continue working together to create healthier, greener communities today and every day.
