We all carry a lot.

Busy schedules, long to-do lists, people to show up for, places to be and sometimes, without realizing it, we can go days without really checking in with ourselves.

That’s part of why this space exists. 🤍

A place to step away from the noise for a little while. To take a breath, move, rest, connect with yourself and share space with others doing the same.

But slowing down doesn’t only have to happen within the studio walls.

It can be a few quiet moments with yourself in the morning. A walk without your phone. A deep breath before moving on to the next thing. Or simply sitting with yourself and noticing how you’re feeling.

And when you do need a little more space to slow down, we’re here. Maybe that looks like a few quiet moments before class, a conversation with someone in our community, or an hour spent moving a little slower together in Yin.

Wherever you are, however you choose to pause come as you are.

There’s always space to breathe, soften, reconnect and simply be. And there’s always a place for you here. 🌿

✨ ENERGY EXCHANGER SPOTLIGHT ✨

This month, we’re celebrating Alondra, our Energy Exchanger Angel of the Month. 🤍

Alondra’s yoga journey began during the uncertainty and isolation of 2020. What started as a way to feel grounded slowly became something much more - a daily practice, an anchor, and eventually, a way to find community.

When she first discovered The Hummingbird Field, it was actually the chalkboard drawings outside that caught her eye. But it was what she found inside that made her stay.

“The studio felt profoundly different from other yoga spaces I had experienced. It fostered a loving and welcoming environment where conversation and genuine connection between students were encouraged.”

Through classes, sacred song circles, events and everyday moments at the studio, Alondra found something many of us crave as adults: a place to belong and build meaningful friendships.

Wanting to give back to a community that had given her so much, she joined our Energy Exchange program — first helping care for the studio and eventually bringing her own creativity to the chalkboards that had originally drawn her through our doors. 🥹✨

A beautiful full-circle moment.

Alondra, thank you for the care, creativity and warmth you bring to our space. We’re so grateful you found your way here — and even more grateful that you chose to stay. 🤍

There’s something special about moving together without needing to perform, get it right, or be anything other than where you are.

Ecstatic Dance is an invitation to gather, reconnect with ourselves and share in the simple joy of movement, music and community.

We’ll begin together with grounding breathwork and meditation, gently making our way into guided movement before opening the space for a 75-minute Ecstatic Dance journey.

There are no steps to learn and no choreography to follow. You can sway, stretch, shake, dance, pause, breathe — or simply take a moment to be.

Come exactly as you are. 🤍

Whether this is your first time exploring free movement or something you already love, you’re welcome in the space.

There are so many ways to deepen a yoga practice and sometimes, it begins with caring for the space that holds us.

Our Energy Exchange Program is rooted in the ancient practice of barter: an exchange built on trust, generosity, and community. By offering one 4-hour cleaning shift each week, you’ll receive unlimited yoga while helping care for the studio that so many call their second home.

Not ready for a weekly commitment? We also offer Energy Exchange Substitute shifts. This is a more flexible way to lend a hand, connect with community, and enjoy the benefits of EE.

Every swept floor, folded blanket, and refreshed space helps create the warm, welcoming environment our community knows and loves. It’s a quiet but meaningful way to give back while deepening your own practice.

In return, you’ll enjoy unlimited yoga, studio perks, and a deeper connection to this incredible community. Many of our teachers and managers have began their journey as Energy Exchangers and for many, it’s been the start of lifelong friendships, personal growth, and a true sense of belonging.

Our Friday 8pm Dãna classes are paused until September, but our commitment to supporting our community continues.

For the remainder of the summer, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food donations for the Bloor West Food Bank. If you’re able, we invite you to bring a donation to the collection box in the Zen Den.

And as always, no student is ever turned away from THF for financial reasons. If the temporary pause of our Dãna classes creates a barrier to your practice, please reach out to us. We’re always happy to find a way to support you.
