However, you can never be sure how strong the current may be, how deep or cold the water is or what lies beneath the surface. Please think twice before jumping in, even the strongest swimmers can get in to trouble. Don’t follow friends in to the water or jump in to try and rescue them. If there is an emergency ring 999.
