Well we were so busy making and chatting at the Volunteer Making Day on Friday, that I have no pictures to show from what was a particularly wonderful day...

In fact, the only photo on my phone from the day is this thistle! Lots of flowers have not survived the heat wave, so I (and I suspect all the insects too) are very appreciative of this hardy thistle... How can something so intricate and beautiful be considered a w**d?

A little while back I'd posted pictures of my sunflower seedlings... and look at them now!

The fact that a tiny little seed can grow into such a big and beautiful flower amazes me every time... I think it's part of my Ikigo!

Ikigo, a concept central to Japanese culture translates to 'reason for being'.

Trauma sometimes brings with it a sense of hopelessness, and it can be hard to notice things that counter an internal view that things will inevitably go wrong. But, no matter what, there are always small moments of wonder, and with support from those around us, the practice of seeking them out can help keep our spirits alive.

This year has been full of wonderful connections and collaborations, helping us support more and more families who need therapeutic support.
