So called because of their ancient use as a calming agent, the cheery star-shaped flowers of the yellow loosestrife are currently blooming beautifully.

Apparently farmers used to make loosestrife necklaces for their cattle! For the cows, it was probably the natural insect repellent that calmed them. For me, spending 10 minutes sitting and sketching them was an opportunity to calm my mind and appreciate the beauty that's on my doorstep.

It takes time and practice to work out what is actually going to be nourishing for our bodies and minds. At Growing Me we guide both adult and child to tune into their sensory systems and try out different activities to feel good!

On Wednesday evening, at Band on the Wall in Manchester, Bev and Nicky had a brilliant time celebrating the NatWest Social Enterprise 100 Awards. Nicky was a finalist in the Pioneer of the Future category, and Growing Me was named as One to Watch 🥳

The event showcased some brilliant social enterprises, doing wonderful, wonderful work...
🥙 The food from Open Kitchen was delicious.
👯 The performance from Eloquent Dance was inspirational, and
🪘 The music and dancing from Godfrey Pambalipe transported us to Africa and back in just 15minutes - a real treat!
