My first week as the permanent CEO at Generate draws to a close. I wanted to share some words by Sukvinder Singh, the father of Aman, a graduate of our Supported Internship programme at John Lewis, Westfield.
“Aman throughout the process has been very motivated and excited as this internship provided him with an opportunity to gain new skills and be exposed to a real work environment. He has gained tools that he can keep and use in the future based on the transferable skills he's learnt. John Lewis has provided a safe space for him to do this and led by the co-ordinators it has been a fantastic experience. The passion showed by Kanvil and her team to engage in the process and show their passion was great to see. The staff at John Lewis really accommodated Aman and made him feel part of the team. All the job coaches have been a fundamental part of the entire process. Noah was fantastic in supporting Aman and us as parents with communication and guiding us through what Aman was doing. Following a career to help the most vulnerable adults is a profession that is so selfless. It takes a special person to help people like the interns
