Sustainability has been at the heart of our garden project this year.
Our residents at TLC Karuna Manor Care Home have rolled up their sleeves to plant, nurture and harvest their own fruit and vegetables, watching each stage of growth from seed to plate.

It has been wonderful to see the sense of pride and purpose that comes from tending a garden together and even better to taste the results at mealtimes.

A big well done to everyone who took part. Here's to more green fingers and homegrown harvests ahead!

A wonderful day of connection, ideas, and celebration!

Our House Services Managers and Wellbeing Leads came together for a joint forum hosted at the Brakes offices in Covent Garden, focused on maintaining and elevating resident wellbeing and exploring new ideas for sustainability across our homes.

A truly magic moment at TLC Candlewood House Care Home.

A visit to Alexandra Palace became a truly special and heartwarming experience for one of our residents, Anne.

Since recently moving into the home, Anne, who is living with dementia, has understandably found the transition challenging and has often felt unsettled as she adjusts to her new surroundings. Recognising Anne's individual needs and wanting to support her wellbeing, our team took a person-centred approach by inviting her to join a small group outing to Alexandra Palace, offering a change of scenery and an opportunity to spend time with other residents in a relaxed environment.

The outing proved to be a wonderful success. Away from the unfamiliarity of her new routine, Anne appeared more at ease and engaged. It was a pleasure to see her chatting, laughing, and forming connections with fellow residents throughout the day. Moments of genuine social interaction and inclusion helped Anne feel part of the community, allowing her personality to shine through.

For the team, it was a powerful reminder of the importance of understanding each person's unique journey and finding meaningful ways to support them. Seeing Anne settled, smiling, and enjoying the company of others made the day truly memorable and highlighted the positive impact that thoughtful, person-centred care can have.

At TLC Care, we’re excited to highlight the incredible journeys of our team members who bring their passion, dedication and heart to work each day. This week, we’re shining a light on Caleb Ihouma, our Care Services Manager at TLC Cooperscroft Care Home.

Here’s Caleb’s story in his own words:
My name is Caleb and I’m a Care Services Manager at TLC Cooperscroft. I joined the organisation in July 2025, as a Practice Development Lead, where I handled learning and development, team coaching and compliance. This role gave me deep knowledge of TLC Care’s procedures, policies and quality expectations.

That foundation prepared me well for my current focus on strengthening clinical governance, which I see as the bedrock of safer care and essential to maintaining the outstanding standards at Cooperscroft.

I genuinely love my role at TLC Care, particularly the one-team approach, the commitment to excellence and the supportive environment make it a place I’m proud to work. I’ve been able to contribute to improving governance structures and embedding safer practices, which has been incredibly rewarding.

I’d recommend TLC Care to anyone looking for a workplace that values growth, quality, and meaningful impact.

We were delighted to welcome Professor Catherine Loveday from the University of Westminster to TLC Carlton Court Care Home for an engaging and insightful talk on "Why We Forget Things Every Day."

Drawing on her extensive research in cognitive neuroscience and memory, Professor Loveday shared fascinating insights into why everyday forgetfulness happens and what it can teach us about how our brains work. She is also the author of numerous articles and books and hosts a podcast exploring memory, the brain, and psychology.

Thank you for sharing your expertise and making such a complex topic both accessible and inspiring for our residents, families and team members.
