As summer comes to an end, we’re looking back at some of our August highlights across Gold Care Homes ☀️💜

With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! 🍦

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

A little change of plans for our Summer Barbecue at Hillside Nursing Home 💜

Due to the weather, we’ve had to postpone tomorrow’s event. We’ll now be holding it on Friday 4th September, from 12:30pm to 2pm.

❌⭕ A little friendly competition at Hillside Nursing Home! 🎲

Our lovely residents enjoyed a game of Tic-Tac-Toe with members of our wonderful team. There were plenty of turns, a few tactical moves and, of course, a little friendly rivalry along the way! 😊💜

Sometimes it is the simple things that make for a lovely afternoon, and we think this game was a winner all round.

A little darting fun at Hillside Nursing Home! 🎯

Our wonderful residents enjoyed taking turns, aiming for the bullseye and cheering each other on. There was some friendly competition along the way, with everyone joining in at their own pace and enjoying a bit of a chat too 💜

We had a lovely summer outing to Romford Shopping Centre with our residents ☀️🛍️💜

There was plenty of browsing, with residents choosing and buying their own personal items and gadgets. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the freedom to make their own choices, before stopping off at McDonald’s for a well deserved treat 🍟🥤

The journey was part of the fun too, with our residents enjoying being back on the transport bus and reminiscing about familiar outings. A lovely day out, with good company, a few purchases and plenty to chat about on the way home 😊

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

🎯 A little friendly competition at Hillside Nursing Home !

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a target challenge today, putting their focus and coordination to the test while cheering each other on. There were some great attempts, plenty of encouragement, and a few proud moments when the targets were hit.

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and enjoying a bit of fun together. Activities like this give our residents the chance to stay active, try something different, and share a few laughs along the way 💜

Our wonderful residents at Hillside Nursing Home enjoyed a bit of friendly competition during a seated target toss activity today 🎯

With colourful discs in hand, everyone took turns aiming for the target mat and seeing who could score the highest. There was plenty of focus, encouragement for one another, and lots of little celebrations when a good throw landed 💜

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, cheering each other on, and enjoying some gentle movement together 😊
