NHS hearing aids are free. Private hearing aids can cost thousands.
So when is it actually worth paying privately?
In this video, Adam talks through when NHS hearing aids make sense, when private hearing care may be worth looking at, and what I’d check before anyone signs a quote.
We also cover something that often gets missed: private care isn’t automatically better, and for very complex or medical hearing cases, the NHS or hospital route can be the right place to be.
Private hearing care can mean buying online, a home visit, a high street provider, or an independent clinic. The important bit is whether the care includes enough time, proper fitting, follow-up, and support after the hearing aids are fitted.
If you’re trying to decide for yourself or for a parent, this should help you ask better questions before booking anything.
