We love to grow our own talent here at Darcy House, and we also love to support our local students! Emily has been working with us to complete her placement hours since November last year and she has become a confident, skilled member of our care team. Today is Emily’s last shift and we wanted to thank her and send on her way to a successful career in care with a round of applause and a few little gifts! Thanks Emily, you’ve been amazing! 🤩 University of Derby

What a beautiful week it has been with the glorious sunshine!

We have certainly made the most of it. On Wednesday, we went for a visit to Carsington Water and had a fabulous time. We enjoyed a picnic, went for a lovely walk, and took in the beautiful scenery. We also spotted some wildlife along the way.

To finish off the afternoon, we treated ourselves to an ice cream, which was the perfect end to a wonderful day out in the sunshine.

📣 Calling Our Local Community! 📣

We are looking for local stalls to join us at our Summer Festival on Saturday 25th July, from 12pm until 4pm. ☀️

We have six tables available, and we’re offering these spaces free of charge as we would love to support local businesses and makers in our community.This could be crafts stalls or baking , books or art any small local businesses are welcome.

Meet Trish

Trish joins us every Thursday afternoon to host our popular Choirology group, where we sing many of our favourite songs together.🎵

We would also like to support Trish, who has written a book called Childrening. The book offers guidance, comfort, and support to anyone going through similar experiences, helping people to feel understood and less alone on their journey.

If you would like a copy of the book, we currently have 3 available in our reception area. The book is also available to purchase on Amazon.

We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Bank Holiday Monday ☀️

Meet the newest member at Darcy House, Billy 🐾
Billy has been with us since 5th May and he’s settled in nicely. Billy was a stray cat and was taken in by Dove Cat Sanctuary in the High Peak he is 2 years old.

He loves seeing everyone and enjoys going out into the garden 🌿

We all enjoy seeing Billy every day and he has quickly become a much-loved part of Darcy House 💚

What a great and busy week we have had at Darcy House!

On Wednesday, we went to Chesterfield Football Ground and sang along to some wonderful songs, which was great fun. Our fantastic regular singer performed with Sing Along with Ellie , who organised this amazing event, all in aid of supporting the Alzheimer’s Society charity. Well done, Ellie, and thank you for inviting us!💙⚽️

On Thursday, we had our very own pantomime show,No Business Like Show Business. What a great performance it was! We sang along, had lots of laughs, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to Nottingham Productions for a fabulous morning. We are already looking forward to the Christmas show!

Today in our Arts & Crafts group, we celebrated World Baking Day with a bit of a twist! We may not have been cooking, but we certainly got crafting. We made cupcakes and doughnuts and even had our own little bake-off competition.🌎🧁

We also took a trip to Paris and enjoyed some beautiful sweet treats made by our wonderful chef, Steph. We discussed the foods and desserts that Paris is famous for and shared which ones we had all tried before.🇫🇷

After all that, we definitely think we baked our way to success!
