Our gentlemen have been very busy lately here at Darcy House!

From singing along with the brilliant Sarah Bright to enjoying a game of darts, there has been plenty going on!

We also had a go at a new game called “The Toolbox”, where we matched pictures of tools to their names. A simple but very fun game! 🛠️

It certainly brought back some lovely memories and sparked lots of conversations about the different tools we had used over the years.
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, having fun and sharing their memories together

Today, we’d like to introduce Claire, our Head of Housekeeping here at Darcy House.

Claire works incredibly hard alongside her fantastic housekeeping team to ensure our home looks beautiful every day and that we always have fresh, clean clothes.

Claire is always happy to support wherever needed, and we are so grateful for everything she and her team do to make Darcy House such a welcoming and cared-for home. 💚

At the weekend, we celebrated Yorkshire Day. We took part in activities all about Yorkshire and its history.

In our baking club, we made some delicious Yorkshire puddings. Some of us enjoyed them with jam.

Yesterday, a few of us enjoyed a trip to the Peak Village Shopping Centre, followed by a lovely walk by the river.🛍

We also treated ourselves to a delicious two-course meal at our local pub, with a cheeky drink or two 🍻

It was such a lovely afternoon spent together. You really can't beat a bit of retail therapy and great company! 💚

Summer Festival ☀️🎶

What a fantastic afternoon we all had at our Summer Festival!

From the snakes and reptiles, to the wonderful music from Ken and Oscar playing the saxophone and violin, and Trish finishing the afternoon with our choir singing , there was something for everyone to enjoy.

We also had some beautiful stalls, and it was lovely to have the Matlock WI ladies join us.
We can't thank everyone enough for helping to make it such a special afternoon. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and make some great memories together.

Every Thursday is Pamper Thursday, one of our favourite days of the week!

Our wonderful hairdresser, Sharon, comes in to give everyone a little makeover. Whether it's a trim, a tidy-up, or a fresh style, she helps everyone look and feel their best.

Our Activities Lead, Jen, also adds to the pampering by painting our nails in a choice of lovely colours, making it a relaxing and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Pamper Thursday is a great opportunity for our residents to feel refreshed, confident, and thoroughly spoiled.💚
