Every Reiki wellbeing evening I’ve held so far has felt special in its own way, and last night was no different.

As we settled into the room, the disco ball scattered perfectly timed little crescent moons around us. It felt so beautifully appropriate — moons of light inside while the eclipse unfolded outside. 🌙✨

And I loved it.

I loved holding the space and offering Reiki while the light outside was changing and, inside, we were allowing ourselves to pause and simply be with whatever came.

We arrived lively, chatty and connected. Then things softened and shifted as the healing began, before we came back together again at the end.

Different, but somehow exactly as it needed to be.

That is one of the things I love most about Reiki. No two sessions ever feel the same.

Sometimes it is quiet and deeply restful. Sometimes it brings movement, emotion, reflection or change. Sometimes you simply lie down, breathe and realise how much you needed to stop.

My role is to hold the space, stay steady and allow each person to have their own experience. I feel very lucky that people trust me to do that.

Perhaps the eclipse and new moon gave me a little nudge too, because I realised I’ve made my work more complicated to find than it needs to be. 😂

I share lots of thoughts and reflections, but people still don’t always know what I actually offer, where I’m based or how they can work with me.

So, with my website still firmly living in the category of one day very soon… I thought I’d make it simple.

Here they are — my Reiki offerings for this summer, all in one place.

Simples.

I’m pinning this post so hopefully I can stop feeling like I need to advertise every five minutes — because anyone who knows me knows that is definitely not my favourite part of being self-employed. 😅

I’ll still share Reiki thoughts, little insights and whatever happens to wander into my head because… well, I know me.

But hopefully now it’s all a little clearer.

Before booking, we’ll have a conversation. I’d always rather help you find the right next step than let you experience the wrong one.

Love and light, always,
Lena xx

✨ A rather special coincidence for tomorrow evening… ✨

I’ve just realised that tomorrow’s Reiki Wellbeing Evening falls right in the middle of the partial solar eclipse.

The eclipse will be unfolding across the UK during the evening, reaching its peak at around 7:10pm — almost exactly while we’ll be sitting together in our Reiki space.

For many people, eclipses carry symbolism around change, reflection, release and new beginnings. Whether you connect with that spiritually or simply love the idea of pausing during a rare moment in the sky, it feels like rather lovely timing for an hour of Reiki, grounding and quiet reflection.

💛 A little space to simply be… this Wednesday. 💛

Anyone else finding the summer holidays a strange mix of lovely moments and complete chaos? 😅

We’ve only just got back from holiday and I am currently drowning in a sea of washing, trying to find some kind of routine again whilst juggling children, food, activities, work and all the other little things that somehow still need doing.

And I know I’m not the only one.

Summer can be wonderful, but when you’re the person holding lots of the family life together, it doesn’t always feel particularly restful.

Which is partly why I’m really looking forward to Wednesday’s Reiki Wellbeing Evening too.

For one hour, there is nothing to organise, sort out, remember or get right.

You can simply arrive, get comfortable and stop.

I’ll guide you through some gentle grounding and relaxation before you lie back or sit comfortably and receive Reiki. Then we’ll slowly return, with time for a cuppa and a chat afterwards if you’d like one.

No previous experience is needed, and there’s absolutely no expectation to talk or share. 🌿

🌼 Wednesday 12th August

Or if, like me, your ability to plan ahead during the school holidays has gone slightly out of the window 😂, you’re very welcome to turn up and pay on the door by cash or card.

These evenings are held by me in partnership with the Mental Health Initiative.

For one hour, you don’t have to be the one holding everything together.

Perhaps this is the little bit of space you need before the week carries on.

Today, thousands of children across the country will leave primary school. 🌿

Over the next few days my social media feed will be full of “then and now” photos. Tiny uniforms beside blazers. Missing teeth replaced with confident smiles. Children who suddenly don’t look like children anymore.

And I love those photos.

But today I’ve found myself thinking about all the things we don’t capture in a photograph.

The nervous tummy on the first day.

Covid and the missing key years in infants.

The friendships that blossomed.

The friendships that didn’t.

The teachers who quietly changed a child’s life without ever realising.

The playground worries.

The victories that never came with a certificate.

The courage it took just to walk through the school gates on some mornings.

This year, Year 6 children have also sat their SATs.

Some will have celebrated their results.

Some will have been disappointed.

Many parents, teachers and schools will understandably feel proud.

But I can’t help wondering…

In ten years’ time, will any of them remember their scaled score?

Or will they remember something else?

The teacher who believed in them.

The teaching assistant who always noticed when they weren’t quite themselves.

The lunchtime supervisor who made them laugh.

The friend who saved them a seat.

The assembly where they found the confidence to stand on stage.

The opportunities that helped them discover who they were.

As both a former teacher and now someone who works alongside children and families, I’ve come to believe that education is about so much more than academic success.

Of course learning matters.

Of course achievement matters.

But they are only part of the story.

Because children leave school carrying far more than knowledge.

They leave carrying beliefs about themselves.

“I’m capable.”

“I’m interesting.”

“I can ask for help.”

“I can make mistakes and keep going.”

“There are adults who will notice me.”

Those beliefs shape futures just as much as anything measured in a test.

So today, to every teacher, teaching assistant, office member, lunchtime supervisor, cleaner, governor and volunteer who has quietly helped a child feel safe, encouraged, challenged or understood…

Thank you.

Your impact reaches far beyond a classroom.

And to every child leaving primary school today…

Congratulations.

Whatever your SATs results said, they describe only a tiny snapshot of what you could demonstrate over a few days.

They do not measure your kindness.

Your creativity.

Your courage.

Your curiosity.

Your resilience.

Or the unique way you will leave your mark on the world.

Enjoy your summer.

Be proud of how far you’ve come.

And may secondary school be the place where your confidence grows, your passions flourish and your people find you. ❤️

Before the Summer Madness Begins… 🌿

Is anyone else feeling like they’re limping towards the end of term?

I’m always talking about the importance of balance, but if I’m honest, these last few weeks have been full-on. With just a few days left until the end of term (and the end of primary school for my Year 6!), my mind feels full to bursting.

It’s reminded me why I love body-based therapies. Sometimes the best way to calm a busy mind isn’t to think harder—it’s to give your body permission to slow down, breathe and let go.

If you’re feeling the same, I’d love to help.

I have a few daytime appointments available on Monday and Wednesday for:
🌿 Massage
🌿 Reflexology
🌿 Indian Head Massage
And so much more just ask

Not sure which treatment would suit you best? That’s absolutely fine—we can decide together.

Take an hour to reset before the summer holiday whirlwind begins.

💛 A few weeks ago, I shared a question that had been sitting with me for some time.

If we were designing support for children and families from scratch today, knowing everything we know now, would we create what currently exists?

The conversations that followed were fascinating.

Parents, teachers, youth workers, therapists, psychologists and friends all brought their own experiences and perspectives. Whilst nobody agreed on everything, I couldn’t help noticing that many of us kept circling around similar themes: trusted adults, relationships, community, opportunities and the experiences that help children flourish beyond the classroom.

I had every intention of continuing that conversation the following week.

Instead, life had other ideas.

Transition days.

End-of-term celebrations.

Time spent with families.

Conversations with children.

The sort of weeks that remind me some ideas aren’t ready to be written straight away.

Sometimes they need to be lived with first.

Over the last couple of weeks, through my work and conversations with different families, I’ve found myself hearing something that has made me pause.

Different children.

Different schools.

Different stories.

Yet every so often I’d hear words like…

“Life’s boring.”

“Nothing really brings me joy anymore.”

“I don’t even know what I like.”

I’m certainly not suggesting these children were describing the same experience. They weren’t. Every child has their own story, their own strengths and their own reasons for feeling the way they do.

But hearing similar sentiments from several unrelated children has left me wondering whether there’s another question worth exploring.

So often, when a child appears disengaged, we ask:

“What do you enjoy?”

“What are your hobbies?”

“What makes you happy?”

They’re all valuable questions.

But I’m beginning to wonder whether there’s another one sitting quietly underneath them.

What helps a child feel that life is full of possibility?

Perhaps that’s why this question has stayed with me.

Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate to witness children becoming completely absorbed in something; losing track of time, discovering a passion, solving a problem, creating, exploring, connecting with others or simply finding a place where they could be wholly themselves.

Those moments have always fascinated me.

Not because every child needs the same thing.

Quite the opposite.

Because every child seems to come alive in different ways.

As always, I’m not sharing this because I have the answers.

If anything, every conversation seems to leave me with better questions than the ones I started with.

So I’d love to hear from you.

When have you seen a child truly light up?

What were they doing?

Who were they with?

What do you think it was about that experience that made the difference?

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

💛

❤️ To every parent of a Year 6 child today…

Over the last couple of weeks, thousands of children have been heading off to transition days. Some have already done theirs, others are still to come, but whichever day it falls on, it marks something much bigger than simply visiting a new school.

For some, today is about finding classrooms, meeting new teachers, catching a bus for the first time and beginning to navigate a much bigger world.

For others, the journey looks a little different. They’ll be travelling further from home, leaving behind the community they’ve known for years and slowly beginning to build another somewhere new.

As both a mum and someone who has spent many years working alongside children and families, I’m always reminded that these moments are about so much more than timetables and school buildings.

They’re about confidence.

Independence.

Identity.

Relationships.

And, perhaps most importantly, helping children discover that they really are capable of stepping into the unknown and, little by little, making it feel familiar.

Today, my hope isn’t simply that every child finds the right classroom or catches the right bus.

It’s that they find people who help them feel seen, valued and able to be themselves.

And for every parent quietly wondering how their child is getting on…

You’re not alone.

Transitions don’t just happen for children.

We experience them too.

So if today feels exciting, emotional, unsettling or all three at once, be kind to yourself.

Put the kettle on.

Take a breath.

They’ll have stories to tell us later. ❤️

Sending lots of love to all our Year 6 families today.
