Since 2003, Dr Chan has taken part in the Great North Run each year in support of numerous charities. Including the British Heart Foundation, Parkinson’s UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Prostate Cancer UK, cancer Research UK, Teenage Cancer Trust and Leukaemia UK.

This year he is running in support of the Mental Health Foundation.
