Having a few moments of post meditation bliss and clarity before in person clients.

The app often reminds you to notice how you feel after meditating 🧡

Today's post meditation feelings are some of my best. I feel so much gratitude for this job and space. How much trust my clients place in me to sit here holding space for their darkest feelings. We work through them together and find ways to make the future and present easier and forgive themselves for their past mistakes.

Today's meditation is about change. It involved visualising a mountain.

🏔️

Mountains just hold still, observing the changes going on around them with confidence. I really liked it.

Let's hope I remember to meditate more as that is one of my goals!

Richmond Park mental health walk 🩵

I'm so grateful we got some beautiful weather the other day. I often forget how close Richmond Park is. And how relaxing a walk there can be.

I had a stressful day due to a personal appointment and unexpected changes, but an anchor that got me through was knowing I could escape here after. Nature didn't let me down! 🌳💚

Research shows there are huge benefits to spending time in nature and walking. You get double points for combining both! Richmond park is the perfect place.

This week’s focus: listening to the body 👂🏼👤

Some weeks I can do endurance cycling. Other weeks I need gentle movement like floor-based yoga.

It’s healthy to move between doing a little and doing a lot. It’s normal to take breaks from exercise. Especially if you menstruate – different phases of the menstrual cycle come with varying energy levels 📈📉

A few weeks back, I was pushing my shoulder too hard. It was painful, but I kept pushing through in my dance class and with yoga at home. I noticed how much frustration I had about being slightly injured. I was also aware of feeling embarrassed about not joining in with certain moves in class. So I kept pushing and did them anyway… while my shoulder was basically yelling “no!” 🤦🏻‍♀️

In more recent weeks, since recovering, I’ve noticed others adapting or softening their movements in class. Self-consciousness really blinds us 🙈 I pushed through unnecessarily. No one actually cares if you adapt moves, if you struggle, if you’re red in the face, or if you’re breathing heavily.

My shoulder is fine now. But it felt like a useful example of how I tuned out from my body and let self-consciousness and social anxiety delay my healing. Each week, my body tells me something different.

Good mental health is so often about listening to the body 💆🏽‍♀️

I explored Alice Holt forest for the first time yesterday 🌲🪾

Have you been out in nature recently? It can be hard since the weather impacts outdoors time, but I find even a rainy walk can be refreshing and reset the mind 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️🧠

I do like the saying: there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing 🧥 I find it just makes me appreciate the warmth and my cup of tea at home even more 🥰
