“I don’t want filler.”

Excellent.

Because sometimes filler isn’t what I want for you either.

And before the internet starts a small civil war, I LOVE dermal filler. In the right face, in the right tissue, in the right place, it is an incredible tool.

But ageing is not simply a game of Where Has The Volume Gone? followed by an enthusiastic syringe.

Our faces are changing on multiple levels.

Skin changes.
Fat compartments change.
Bone remodels.
Ligaments and supporting structures change.
Muscles continue doing whatever chaotic little workplace dispute they’ve been conducting for the last 20 years.

And somewhere along the way, collagen production has reduced its hours without informing management.

This is where Sculptra comes in.

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid collagen biostimulator.

Rather than simply placing volume where I want an immediate structural change, Sculptra is used to stimulate your own collagen production gradually over time.

Which means this is not:

“Can you just put a bit here?”

This is:

“Let’s look at how your face is ageing and decide what actually makes sense.”

You won’t leave my clinic looking like somebody has installed a new face during your lunch break.

The initial treatment effect settles.

Then we wait.

Because your fibroblasts have essentially been given homework.

Over the following weeks and months, collagen production and remodelling gradually take place, creating progressive rather than sudden change.

And THAT is exactly why I’ve brought Sculptra to Glass Skin.

I don’t want to chase every line.

I don’t want every face filled.

I want more ways to work intelligently with the biology of ageing.

Sometimes that means toxin.

Sometimes filler.

Sometimes regenerative treatments.

And now, sometimes it means Sculptra.

Welcome to the next chapter of Glass Skin.

Sculptra consultations are officially OPEN. 🥂

“I just look older.”

Possibly the least clinically useful sentence ever uttered in an aesthetics clinic. 😂

Because you haven’t woken up one Tuesday and suddenly become old.

Your face has been renovating itself for years.

Bone remodels.
Fat compartments change and descend.
Ligaments and soft tissues lose some of their support.
Collagen declines.
Lips lose structure and definition.

And eventually you look in the mirror and think:

“Who the f**k has stolen my face?”

This is where good aesthetics gets interesting.

Because when somebody tells me their cheeks look hollow, my immediate thought isn’t CHEEK FILLER.

When they tell me their mouth looks sad, I don’t automatically start chasing lines around it with a syringe like I’m playing injectable Whack A Mole.

I’m looking at the architecture.

Where have we lost support?
Where has volume genuinely changed?
Has the midface flattened?
Has skeletal remodelling altered projection?
Is tissue quality part of the problem?
And does this face actually need filler at all?

Sometimes the answer is a carefully placed structural filler.

Sometimes it’s a collagen stimulating treatment such as Sculptra, where we’re asking your own tissue to gradually rebuild some of what time has nicked.

Sometimes it’s skin regeneration.

Usually, as we get older, the smartest answer is a combination.

The aim isn’t to put back every millilitre you’ve lost until you resemble your own emergency flotation device.

It’s restoration, not inflation.

I don’t want to give you somebody else’s cheeks.

I want to understand what’s changed in your face and strategically restore enough support, structure and tissue quality that you start recognising yourself again.

Because “I want to look younger” often isn’t really what somebody means.

What they mean is:

“I want to look like me again.”

And THAT is a treatment plan I can work with. 🥂

The treatment people ask for is rarely the treatment they actually need.

One of the biggest misconceptions in aesthetics is that you can diagnose yourself from Google, Instagram or TikTok.

“I think I need filler.”

“Can you do my tear troughs?”

“I just need a bit of Botox.”

Sometimes that’s true.

But often it isn’t.

During a consultation I’m not looking at one wrinkle or one area. I’m looking at how your face functions as a whole. Your skin quality. Bone support. Fat pads. Muscle movement. Collagen. Lifestyle. Medical history. What has changed… and why.

Sometimes the answer is dermal filler.

Sometimes it’s regenerative treatment.

Sometimes it’s skincare.

And sometimes the best treatment is no treatment at all.

I’d much rather lose a sale than recommend something that isn’t right for you.

That’s how Glass Skin has always worked, and that’s exactly how it will stay.

If you’ve been wondering where to start, send me a message. Even if the answer isn’t something I offer, I’ll always point you in the right direction.

Keep it Glassy, 🤍 Jo

🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨

These poor little bottles are crying because you lot keep emptying them faster than I can restock them. 😂

If you’re running low on your skincare, could please you let me know a few days before your appointment? It helps me make sure your products are waiting for you rather than having to ask you to come back.

The good news… there are some exciting new additions arriving very soon, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been adding to the Glass Skin shelves. 👀

Thank you for keeping me on my toes… and for being consistent with your skincare! 🤍
