Celebrating the Spirit of the Dublin Horse Show🎨🐴

The excitement of the Dublin Horse Show inspired a wonderful creative project here at Terenure Nursing Home, with our residents working together to create a beautiful horse masterpiece.

❤️ Ann Nolan shared her lovely smile while enjoying the activity, and it was especially heartwarming to see Ann painting alongside her son Ian, making precious memories together.

🎨 Mary Denny and Liz Kelly were deep in concentration as they carefully added their artistic touches, while Francis played a key role throughout the project, helping to bring our magnificent horse to life.

The finished horse is a true reflection of the creativity, teamwork and dedication of our wonderful residents. Every brushstroke tells a story, and we're so proud of what they achieved together.

The team at Terenure Nursing Home would love to welcome residents, families and friends to our Annual Summer BBQ on Wednesday, 12th August.

Join us for a wonderful afternoon filled with delicious food, great company, laughter and plenty of summer fun. It's always one of our favourite days of the year, and we can't wait to celebrate with everyone.

🍰🍦 A Sweet Surprise & A Great Afternoon of Fun 🧠🎉

There was plenty of excitement at Terenure Nursing Home over last weekend when our wonderful friends, Pat and James, paid us a visit with delicious cake and ice cream for everyone to enjoy. 💙

The treats were only the beginning! Pat and James also rolled up their sleeves to help our residents with a fantastic Mega Quiz, featuring:

🎲 A Pot Luck Round

There were lots of laughs, friendly competition, great conversations and wonderful memories made along the way. It's afternoons like these that remind us how special it is to spend time together. 💕

A huge thank you to Pat and James for their kindness, generosity and for making our residents' day so enjoyable. We always love welcoming friends into our home. 😊

🌸💧 Meet our wonderful resident gardener, Liz! 💧🌸

With the recent dry spell, our beautiful flowers have needed a little extra TLC – and Liz has been more than happy to take the lead! 🌼🌺

Every day, Liz lovingly waters our flower beds, helping to keep our Nursing Home gardens looking bright, colourful and full of life. 🌹🌺🌷

In these photos, Liz had a very enthusiastic assistant gardener – our Activities Coordinator, Grace! 👩‍🌾😊 Together they made a fantastic team, ensuring our blooms continue to thrive despite the warm weather.

🐾 A Very Special Visitor Returned this week 🐾

There were smiles all around at Terenure Nursing Home this week as our much-loved therapy dog, Orla, paid us a welcome visit after taking a little break during the recent hot weather. ❤️

Our residents were absolutely delighted to see her back, enjoying plenty of cuddles, chats and special moments together.

At Terenure Nursing Home we believe that person-centred care means supporting the things that matter most to each Resident.

Recently, Activities Coordinator Grace accompanied our wonderful Resident, Rose, on a special visit to Palmerstown Cemetery to spend time remembering and honouring a loved one. At Rose’s request, they took the time to tidy and care for the graveside - as Rose would have done before coming to live in our care.

With a flask of tea in hand, it was a quiet and meaningful visit — a chance for Rose to reflect, remember her loved ones, and maintain an important connection.

Supporting our Residents means more than providing care within our home; it means listening to their wishes, respecting their memories, and helping them continue to engage with the people and places that hold significance in their lives.

Thank you to Grace for helping make this special visit possible and for supporting Rose with such kindness and compassion.
