🌱 Indoor Gardening at Nephin Nursing Home 🌱

On Sunday, 31st May, our residents enjoyed a wonderful indoor gardening session with out activities coordinator, Nancy: Together, they transplanted one of our ornamental plants into a recycled plastic pots, with everyone lending a helping hand.

The activity sparked many happy memories, as residents shared stories of their own gardens, favourite flowers, and years spent tending to plants. It was lovely to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and conversation as we worked together.

Gardening is a wonderful way to stay active, creative, and connected, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed watching their new planter take shape.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the afternoon such a success 🌿😊

On June 3rd, our wonderful resident John celebrated his 90th birthday, surrounded by his loving family, fellow residents, and our dedicated Nephin Nursing Home staff. It was a fabulous day with lots of new memories made for John and his family.

John was treated to a lovely celebration, complete with a scrumptious birthday cake and plenty of singing of 'happy birthday' and oodles of love.

Moments like these are so important to us, and it was a privilege to celebrate such a significant milestone with John and his family.

We would like to wish John a very happy 90th birthday and many more happy and healthy years ahead. 💐

Our Nephin Nursing Home Residents made the most of every moment of the lovely weather last week, heading out into the garden to enjoy the fresh air, warmth, and peaceful surroundings. The moment the garden is mentioned here at Nephin, there’s always a happy rush to get outside — ready to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the day together🥰🥰

It was wonderful to see Residents relaxing outdoors, chatting, smiling, and simply enjoying being in the heart of nature.

Days like these are a gentle reminder of how much joy a little sunshine, fresh air, and good company can bring 💛

At Nephin Nursing Home exercise is very important for our Residents - some love it - some not so keen 🥰 But it is important to keep moving for blood circulation and general health - so our Activities Coordinator, Nancy, put our Residents through a short warm-up band exercises before exercise class. 💪😊

Some residents were full of energy, while others looked very focused on perfecting their stretches… and one may even have looked ready for a little nap instead. 😄

These gentle resistance band exercises are a wonderful way to improve flexibility, mobility, and strength while bringing plenty of fun and laughter to the group. It was lovely to see everyone taking part and getting ready for the class ahead. 🌿

Toda y - May 21st - is "International Tea Day" and we celebrated here here in Nephin Nursing Home with plenty of smiles, stories, and of course… lots of cups of tea ☕😊

Our residents and staff enjoyed a very special Tea Party together, celebrating the comfort, friendship, and happiness that a simple cup of tea can bring 💛🍰

Alice and Marita shared lovely reflections in our videos (next posts) about the importance of “the cup of tea” in their lives — from daily routines to moments of comfort and connection ❤️

The photos capture a wonderful afternoon filled with chats, laughter, sweet treats, and warm company ☕

There was great music and plenty of smiles at Nephin Nursing Home as Micky the Guitar Man entertained our residents with a wonderful performance 💙

Residents enjoyed singing along, clapping, and soaking up the fantastic atmosphere as Micky played a selection of well-loved tunes. Music always brings such joy to our home and creates lovely moments for everyone to share together.

Thank you, Micky, for another brilliant visit and for bringing so much fun and laughter to our residents and staff .

Today at Nephin Nursing Home, we were delighted to celebrate International Nurses Day and recognise the incredible dedication, compassion, and hard work of our nursing team. 💙

As a small token of appreciation, our nurses received some well-deserved treats to thank them for the care, kindness, and support they show to our residents each and every day.

Our Residents had created beautiful handmade cards for our Nurses - a beautiful token of their appreciation .

We are truly grateful for everything our nurses do to make a difference in the lives of those in our care. Thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and compassion. 🌸
