We’d love to share some lovely memories from our latest day trip out with you all! 🌊🚐Our residents had the most fantastic trip to Malahide and Portmarnock for a scenic coastal drive. The views were absolutely beautiful, but the highlights were definitely the amazing people who looked after us along the way.A massive thank you to the wonderful Community Gardaí from Ballyfermot who escorted us, kept us safe, and were so incredibly kind and full of chats. We also want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing volunteer Rita and the brilliant staff at the White Sands Hotel Portmarnock for making us feel so welcome and taking such great care of us during our visit.Memories made, smiles all round, and a gorgeous day by the sea! ☀️🍦🌊❤️

We really enjoyed celebrating Nursing Homes Ireland Week! 🌿 We did it all to stay “Connected with Nature”—from beautiful flower arranging and photography to gardening, sensory walks, and outdoor fun. Enjoy our video wrapping up a fantastic week! 🌸📸✨

🌸🌿 Nursing Homes Ireland Week – Life in Full Bloom at Maryfield Nursing Home 🌿🌸

This Nursing Homes Ireland Week, we are embracing the wonderful theme of connecting with nature and celebrating the beauty that surrounds us here at Maryfield Nursing Home. 💚

🌿 Monday – Connecting with our gardens
We began our week with a gentle walk around our beautiful gardens, taking time to admire all the wonderful spaces lovingly cared for by our residents and their families. We enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee together while stopping to listen to the beautiful sounds of nature. ☕🌺🐦

🦢 Tuesday – A nature walk
We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful nature. Our garden at the back overlooks the weir, where we can enjoy watching swans, herons, ducks and even the cheeky squirrels going about their day. We also enjoyed a photography session and have our wonderful photographs displayed in our home.🦢🦆🐿️

💐 Wednesday – Flower arranging
Today, we look forward to bringing nature indoors with some lovely in-house flower arranging activities. A little creativity, colour and plenty of blooms! 🌷🌼

📖 Thursday – Poetry & a picnic by the weir
We will enjoy some poetry and a relaxing picnic beside the weir, taking in the peaceful surroundings and enjoying each other’s company. 🧺🌿📚

🌺 Friday – Flower Power Day!
We’ll finish our week by embracing all the beautiful plants and flowers around Maryfield and celebrating the colour, life and joy that nature brings to our home. 🌸🌱💕

It has been a beautiful reminder that connecting with nature can bring so much joy, calm, conversation and togetherness.

Mamma Mia, what a night! 🕺Our ABBA Experience social evening on Friday was an absolute sensation! 🌟Our incredible residents, families, and staff all came together for a spectacular night of singing, dancing, and non-stop fun. 🎶✨The highlight of the evening was our floor-by-floor ABBA competition! Every single floor put on an amazing performance, and our judges had a tough job choosing a winner because everyone did so brilliantly. 🎤👑Huge congratulations to St. Kevin’s Household for taking home the crown! 🏆 All staff and residents gave it their absolute all big congratulations and thanks to everyone. You all made it such a joyful, memorable evening. It was truly wonderful to see our community coming together like one big family. ❤️

We are still smiling after yesterday's double celebration! 🎉First, we cheered on Sr. Stephen for her incredible 105th birthday! 🎂🎈 Then, we enjoyed a wonderful therapeutic visit from K2 Alpacas. Joe brought along Winston and Stan, two beautiful and calm alpacas who made sure to visit every resident even dropping in to our residents rooms. Thank you for making yesterday so memorable and bringing us so much joy! 🦙❤️

What a fantastic few weeks we've had here at Maryfield! 🌞We want to send a massive thank you to our brilliant local Community Gardaí for calling in and taking us out on a wonderful day trip to Powerscourt and Bray. 🚓🌊A huge heartfelt thank you as well to the amazing volunteers from Dodder Valley Cycling! Our residents absolutely loved the precious time you spent chatting with us and taking us out on the rickshaws. 🚲💙We also enjoyed a gorgeous outing to The West County Hotel for some lovely coffee and delicious cake. ☕🍰We are so incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a vibrant and caring community. 💙 Safeguarding Starts at the Table 💙On Monday, we observed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day with a coffee morning and a meaningful chat about what a "warm, safe home" means to our residents. We followed the discussion with a wonderful art session where everyone designed their own version of a safe home! 🏡🎨This year's theme reminds us how vital communication, listening, and dignity are in our community.A huge thank you to all our residents who shared their thoughts and creativity. Together, we continue to build a culture of safety, inclusion, and empowerment! 👋✨
