Sajha Dhago—“common threads”—has grown from a Common Threads Project initiative into an independent Nepali organization advancing trauma recovery at scale.

In 2025 alone, the team trained clinicians independently, mentored peers in Seattle, and expanded healing circles to women facing menstrual isolation. Today, they reach 380+ survivors annually, with a 95% measurable improvement in emotional well-being.

Join us in celebrating their work in trauma recovery with local leadership, expanding capacity, and healing that endures.

At Sajha Dhago, we believe that when women support women, when communities uplift each other, and when we give with open hearts, we all rise together.✨❤️
With one hand on our heart and the other stretched forward, we choose to Give To Gain.🫂

This International Women’s Day, Sajha Dhago celebrates the power of generosity, collaboration, and collective strength. When we give opportunities, respect, and support to women everywhere, we gain progress, equality, and a brighter future for all.
Together, let’s uplift and empower.🌿🌿

We started a new session filled with hope, joy, and a spirit shared experience. Today we are excited to begin our journey together with the participants from Ward 12 (Teku). One Billion Rising (OBR) Event | Sajha Dhago

At this year’s OBR gathering, Sajha Dhago facilitated a slow stitching workshop with survivors of sexual violence. We chose a quiet, intentional space and to be rooted in dignity, consent, and collective care. In a world that often demands survivors to speak loudly, prove pain, or narrate trauma for legitimacy, we chose a different approach. We stitched to offer healing.

In each piece of fabric, there were stories- some visible, some held quietly within. There were moments of connection, gentle laughter, tears, and solidarity.

Survivors are not mere victims- we view them as creators, knowledge holders, and resilient individuals shaping meaning from their experiences.

On One Billion Rising, we did not only rise in protest.
We rose in care.
We rose in creativity.
We rose in solidarity.
