Building the foundation for better mental healthcare.
What happens when frontline health workers are equipped with the right knowledge and skills?
Real progress.
As part of the five-day mhGAP Module 2B Training in Hetauda, 9 paramedics from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City began strengthening their skills to recognize, assess, manage, and refer people experiencing mental health, neurological, and substance use conditions.
Across Days 1-3, participants explored:
• Depression and su***de risk
• Anxiety
• Epilepsy
• Psychosis
• Psychiatric history-taking and Mental Status Examination (MSE)
Through case discussions, role-plays, interactive learning, and practical exercises, the training focused on turning knowledge into skills that can be applied in real-world settings.
This was only the beginning.
