The Albany Stratton VA Medical Center provides for the health care needs of Veterans in 22 counties o In 1990 this facility was named in honor of Samuel S.

The Albany Stratton VA Medical Center (Albany VAMC) is located in the heart of Albany, the Capital of New York State. Part of the VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York, Albany VAMC was opened in 1951, serving Veterans in a 100-mile radius. Albany VAMC serves Veterans across the eastern, upstate region of New York State, utilizing eleven Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) and a satellite office which services 22 New York counties and areas along the borders of western Massachusetts and Vermont. Stratton, U.S. Congressman of the 23rd District, a staunch supporter of Veterans and a frequent visitor to the hospital. The Stratton VA Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 1c facility, receiving notification of increase from Surgical Complexity Designation Intermediate to Surgical Complexity Designation Complex on July 8, 2011.

🇺🇸🚴 213 MILES. ONE MILLION VOICES. ONE MISSION!

The New York State Department of Veterans' Services is proud to support the Dwyer Coalition’s 2026 Tour de Valor: One Million Voices, an extraordinary 213-mile cycling journey beginning tomorrow, October 23. The awareness ride will bring together Veterans, Military Families, first responders, advocates, and communities in a powerful show of unity and support for All Who Served!

Organized by our good friends and partners at the Dwyer Coalition for Military Veterans and Families, this approximately 22-hour journey will begin at the Albany County Veterans Service Bureau, travel through the Hudson Valley and New York City, and conclude at the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Memorial in Rocky Point, Long Island, on October 24.

The Tour de Valor is a statewide awareness initiative focused on Veterans’ mental health, su***de prevention, peer support, and reducing isolation. Its message is simple but powerful: No one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Along the route, participants will make stops across 11 New York counties, connecting with first responders, Veterans organizations, and community supporters before reaching Rocky Point at approximately 10 a.m. on October 24.
