Nature gave us some special visitors!

After expressing interest in seeing a bird’s nest one of our residents enjoyed an up-close look at a chickadee with our volunteer, Kathy, who lovingly cares for the birdhouses around campus. The chicks had recently hatched, and together they were able to observe both parent birds tending to their little ones, making for a memorable wildlife encounter!

Later in the day, an unexpected guest was spotted near the building, a beautiful owl resting in the field by the 24-hour desk. It's always exciting to experience the beauty of nature and the wildlife that call our campus home! 💚✨

We kicked off National Skilled Nursing Care Week this morning with a custom smoothie bar for staff! From 6:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m., team members from both the overnight and day shifts stopped by to enjoy smoothies made just to their preferences. It was a fun and refreshing way to start an amazing week dedicated to celebrating our Nursing Home and the incredible staff who make it such a special place every day!

This week, our Assisted Living residents gathered for a lovely happy hour made even more special by the company of a few Cluster Home residents and their friend, who shared their musical talents with us throughout the afternoon! Familiar songs filled the room as residents sang along, laughed together, and enjoyed one another’s company!

Moments like these are a great reminder of the connections and joy that make the Masonic Home such a special community!

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating our Quarter 1 Champion of Care nominees at a special employee appreciation lunch. In total, we honored an incredible 180 years of combined service at the Minnesota Masonic Home, alongside 188 nominations representing 120 dedicated staff members!

These numbers speak volumes. They reflect not only longevity, but a deep, ongoing commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to those we serve! Our Champion of Care program is a meaningful way to recognize team members who go above and beyond.

If you would like to nominate a staff member who has made a special impact on you or your loved one, we encourage you to participate in our Champion of Care program. Nomination boxes are conveniently located throughout the campus, including Town Square and near the elevators, or you can submit a nomination online using the provided link. https://mnmasonichomes.org/who-we-are/champions-of-care/
