We love especially when we get to re-introduce this fan fave! Meet Becca Jones, PNP (human ☀️)
✨Becca was born and raised in Charlotte! (And so was her husband!)
✨She went to UGA (GO DAWGS!)
✨She was a NICU nurse for 4 years before becoming a PNP and misses it often (“but I couldn’t ask for a better job than working for Pediatric Housecalls!”)
✨She is a mom to 3 kids - ages 6,4,&2 so she’s right there in the thick of it with many of her patients!
✨Becca’s first “baby” was her dog Olive, a 12 year-old collie mix who she adores and she is passionate about rescuing!
✨She loves to play mahjong with friends and family any chance she gets!
We are so lucky to have Becca on our team and we know our patients feel the same way! ❤️

Text e-visits! Does it get any easier than this? Have a simple issue that doesn’t need a full house call, but DOES need more expertise than Google? Our providers do text e-visits! We use a HIPAA-secure texting platform so you can send us photos (pink eye? rashes?), and we can chat live back-and-forth to gather information and provide guidance and treatment when appropriate. Re-introducing Dr. Shaoleen Daly! Dr. Daly is DOUBLE board-certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine 🤯! She is a mama of two adorable kids, a breastfeeding advocate, a world traveler (with kids in tow!), and we think one of the kindest humans around.

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever: What to know!
🔸Despite the name, RMSF is not isolated to the Rocky Mountains. Every year, especially in the summer months, we see cases in the mid-Atlantic and southern states including the Carolinas and Virginia
🔸Classic symptoms begin anywhere from 3-14 days after a tick bite, however in many cases, parents will not report any known tick exposure, so lack of known tick bite should not rule out RMSF
🔸Classic symptoms include fever, headache, and rash that is petechial in appearance (swipe for photo) and often begins around ankles and wrists and spreads
🔸Kids with RMSF appear quite sick - even with Tylenol or Ibuprofen often fever and headache will persist, and symptoms will progress and worsen without treatment
🔸If there is suspicion for RMSF, antibiotic treatment should begin promptly, before waiting for laboratory comfirmation
🔸Because of the overlap of symptoms with many other childhood illnesses, when in doubt, seek evaluation by a healthcare provider

We think we have the most compassionate, joyful doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants on the planet, and we like to think it’s partly due to the freedom and flexibility that Pediatric Housecalls has created for our team! We give our patients 100% when we are working and we protect our time off with our own families ferociously. That prevents burnout which is obviously a good thing, but DID YOU KNOW…
Happier providers actually have better patient outcomes! 😊
