But that’s not really the point.

The point is who shows up…a clinician who sets her own schedule, isn’t rushing, and has nowhere else to be other than your living room.

A study from Harvard Medical School and The Wharton Business School found that 50-66% of Americans feel that the U.S. healthcare system and its providers lack compassion.

One of our drivers at Pediatric Housecalls, is the desire to bring that compassion back. I always say (and it’s odd that it even needs saying)…that BY DEFINITION, if a patient and parent gets to us, we can assume that they are not in their best moment. Otherwise they wouldn’t be looking to us for help. Folks who are not at their best, need empathy and understanding, not rushed annoyance and judgement.

And provider burnout and exhaustion are not excuses. Pediatric Housecalls changed the model of care to ensure that burnout and provider exhaustion don’t ever enter into the equation with our team, by letting our providers choose their own schedule. When you get us, you can be sure we are choosing to be there.

And we also recognize the very poignant truth: “What a privilege it is to be exhausted by an ambition of your own choosing.”

Meet Amber, part of our Charlotte area team! ❤️

Amber is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant with over 14 years of experience in healthcare. She currently works in primary care and is also a Licensed Esthetician. Caring for others has always been close to her heart, and she especially loves creating a warm, reassuring environment where patients and families feel comfortable and genuinely cared for.
As a mom herself, Amber knows just how hard it can be when your little one isn’t feeling well. She loves the heart behind Pediatric Housecalls and making healthcare a little easier for families by bringing compassionate, personalized care right to their doorstep.

When she’s not caring for patients, Amber loves spending time with her son, Mason, enjoying the outdoors and loving on their two bunnies, Syrup and Pancake. 🤍

Meet Keaira Bryson! She works for Pediatric Housecalls as a CNA/CMA in Greenville, SC. Keaira has allowed us to extend our care to the Greenville area by being our “eyes and hands” at patient house calls for our hybrid telemedicine visits. Just yesterday she helped us rule out an ear infection in a little guy, by capturing digital eardrum photos and transmitting them in real time to our telemedicine doctor. We are so happy to have Keaira as part of our team and know that our Greenville families are lucky to have her!

We continue to grow and we couldn’t be happier! Welcome Krista Mockaitis, PNP!
Krista is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of experience in Pediatrics. She completed her BSN at UNC- Chapel Hill and worked in Duke’s
Pediatric ICU. She then moved to Chicago, completed her MSN at University at Illinois of Chicago, and worked concurrently in the Neonatal ICU. After moving back to North Carolina, she
worked 12 years in outpatient Pediatric Primary Care. She is passionate about giving quality
personalized care to every patient she encounters. When she is not taking care of other parents’
sweet littles, you can find her shuffling her own two children to sports and music lessons,
playing tennis, or spending some quality time with her family hiking, traveling, or hanging in for a family game night!
