As school winds down, there can be excitement… and sometimes a surprising amount of discomfort too.

After months of structure, freedom can feel wonderful at first and then suddenly feel a little too open.

This summer, instead of chasing “productive” or avoiding boredom altogether, try creating rhythm.

A few things to look forward to.
A few things that challenge you.
A few things that help you rest.

Too much to do can feel overwhelming.
Nothing to do can feel overwhelming too.

Maybe this season isn’t about doing more.
Maybe it’s about finding your pace. 🪞

🎓 Congratulations to the High School Graduates 🎓

Today we celebrate more than diplomas.

We celebrate early mornings, late nights, hard conversations, changing friendships, unexpected turns, quiet resilience, and all of the moments that nobody else saw.

Graduation is such a strange and beautiful season. One foot standing in everything you’ve known and one foot stepping into something new.

To the graduates who know exactly what comes next…
To the graduates who have absolutely no idea…
To the ones feeling excited, relieved, scared, proud, uncertain, or all of it at once…

There is room for all of it.

You do not have to have your whole life figured out right now.

Your worth has never been measured by grades, acceptance letters, jobs, or plans. The world doesn’t need a perfect version of you. It needs the version of you that keeps showing up, keeps learning, keeps becoming.

Congratulations Class of 2026. We are cheering for you and all of the ways your story is still unfolding.

We are excited to welcome Katie Abeyta to the Beyond the Mirror Counseling & Wellness team! 💙

Katie works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and has experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. She values creating a supportive, authentic space where clients can feel safe, understood, and empowered in their healing process.

Katie is currently accepting new clients for both in-person and virtual sessions.

Mental health is influenced by more than just our thoughts. Sleep, nourishment, movement, stress, relationships, screen time, environment, and nervous system regulation all play a role in our overall wellbeing.

Sometimes small changes can help support the mind and body in meaningful ways: getting outside for a few minutes, reducing constant notifications, creating more consistent sleep routines, moving your body regularly, slowing down enough to eat nourishing meals, spending time with supportive people, or taking short breaks from overstimulation and noise.

Mother’s Day is tender for a lot of people.

For some, it feels warm and full. For others, it touches grief. Absence. Exhaustion. Distance. Longing. Sometimes motherhood feels like being pulled in every direction while trying to remember where you are inside of it all. Sometimes it feels beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

Some people are celebrating mothers today. Some are missing them. Some are trying to become mothers. Some are mothering everyone around them while quietly forgetting to care for themselves.

If you are someone who spends most of your days holding others together, we hope you let yourself soften a little today too. Rest if you need rest. Step away if you need space. Let yourself want what you want. Let yourself feel what you feel.

There is no right way to move through today. Only your way.
