Kara and Leeann recently headed to Toronto for the IDA Conference! They heard how cities around the world are tackling their biggest challenges and picked up ideas from NYC, Chicago, and Calgary. Sessions covered everything from commercial real estate and membership programs to placemaking and the late-night economy. Kara's biggest takeaways came from sessions on implementing a streetscape project while supporting businesses and the top 10 global downtown trends. It's always energizing to be in a room full of people who do this work and are eager to move it forward.

Salsa Night at Alive @ Five is TOMORROW! 💃

Carroll Creek is heating up with live Latin sounds from Costas Colectivo and we're opening the gates EARLY! Gates open at 4:25 PM, with salsa lessons from Fred Astaire Frederick starting at 4:30 and running until 5 PM, right before the band takes the stage. Silvia, founder of Frederick Salsa, will lead even more lessons in between sets!

Come hungry: Sabor De Cuba, Taco Joint FoodTruck and UR Nuts in Frederick, MD will be serving delicious food

Come thirsty: pours from Brewer's Alley, Simple Theory Wine Co, Tenth Ward Distilling Company, McClintock Distilling, and True Standard Distilling

As a reminder, entry is $5 and no outside drinks are allowed. Free water is available inside.
