Please join us for a special and informative Advocacy and Criminal Justice Committee meeting with special guest Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, which will be held this Wednesday, November 4th from 5:00-6:30pm on Zoom.

Elected in 2024, Councilmember Jurado is the chair of the City’s Homelessness and Health committee and a member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Unarmed Crisis Prevention, Intervention, and Community Services. In these roles, Councilmember Jurado leads the City’s efforts to address regional homelessness through a housing-led, public health approach and expand community-based alternatives to policing.

This session offers an important opportunity to hear directly from the Councilmember on the nexus of mental health and homelessness in the City of Los Angeles. Join us for a living room chat. We're starting a new collaboration that is preparing a welcoming, supportive space where individuals and families can find connection, understanding, and peer support.

NAMI and the LA County Department of Public Health wants to expand access to a peer-led space for adults where they can experience compassionate, culturally responsive conversations and find ways to connect to community-based mental health resources at a monthly bilingual general meeting and family support group.
