Homeless Advocacy Project HAP is a nonprofit organization providing free legal services to reduce homelessness in Philadelphia

Established in 1990, HAP is the only legal services organization dedicated to providing direct civil legal services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. HAP also advocates for the needs of the City’s homeless population, promoting positive changes in policies that impact those needs.

Terri is one of the driving forces behind the scenes at HAP, making sure the many moving pieces of our organization stay on track. As our Director of Operations, Terri helps make it possible for us to serve our clients every day, from keeping our systems running smoothly to supporting our team and making sure our day-to-day operations work the way they should. Congrats on year 4!!

Congrats to our Director of Intake and Outreach and one of our Duffy Fellows, Joel Sobel, on his 7th year at HAP!

Intakes are the main touchpoint between our staff and clients and the person behind that process is Joel. From complex cases to overseeing our clinics, Joel’s years of experience show in how he interacts with staff and clients with patience and expertise. Congrats to Josie on 5 years at HAP! Josie wears a lot of hats in her capacity as one of HAP’s paralegals. She has helped many clients through our SOAR and CYF programs during her time. And as a member of the development team, she plays a big role in ensuring that HAP obtains vital grants and funding for our work. She also plays a leadership role in our DEI committee.
