Incredible news! MyChart is now the leading national pathway for organ donor registration. 💙💚
In the year since Donate Life America and Epic connected MyChart to the National Donate Life Registry, more than 250,000 people have used MyChart to sign up as organ donors, making it the nation’s leading organ donor registration pathway.
The MyChart organ donor registration feature allows patients to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors directly through the portal they already use to manage their care. More than 220 organizations representing 1,300 hospitals and 27,000 clinics have made the feature available to their patients, and even more organizations are implementing it.

💙 Meet the Alexanders! 👫
When John needed a kidney transplant, Bernice made the selfless decision to donate her kidney in advance through the National Kidney Registry – giving a stranger the gift of life so her husband could receive a better matched kidney. For John, this gave him the best possible chance at a healthier future and a successful outcome. By donating in advance, they were also able to be there for one another through every step of the process – serving as each other’s support, caregiver, and strength during healing and recovery.
John and Bernice are pictured with their transplant coordinators who guided them throughout their transplant journey.
Another successful living kidney donation story for AHN Abdominal Transplant. We are so lucky to be a part of their story. 💚

Dave Lackner remembered being on vacation in Stone Harbor, N.J., in 2007 when the phone call came in. “They had found a kidney for my dad,” Lackner, of Mt. Lebanon, said of that call nearly 20 years ago. The family scrambled to get the patriarch on a flight home for

💙 A parent’s love knows no limits. For some mothers, love means becoming a living kidney donor for their child – offering hope, healing, and a second chance at life.

Over this Mother’s Day weekend, Tony got to spend time with his family and his mother, Julie, who donated her kidney to him in January of this year.
From every appointment and sleepless nights to the incredible act of donation itself, Julie showed extraordinary strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love. 💐

📰 The Post-Gazette got a chance to interview Tony and Dr. Carpenter to share their remarks on this extra special Mother’s Day. The below link to the Post-Gazette also highlights another Mother’s Day success story between a son and mother in Latrobe, PA. “I said it was something that she didn’t have to do but it means the world to me. It definitely put my life back to where I wanted it to be.” said Tony.

“Most people don’t even think twice about it: My kid needs a kidney, take mine.” said Jennifer Carpenter, surgical director of the living kidney program at AHN.

Inspiring stories like these show the love, courage, and sacrifice that families will go through to give their loved ones the chance to grow, heal and enjoy more moments with the people who love them most. 💚
