Tender, sore, or swollen breasts are often one of the earliest signs of pregnancy, and while they can be uncomfortable, they're usually completely normal. 💗

During pregnancy, rising levels of estrogen and progesterone increase blood flow and prepare your breasts for breastfeeding. You may notice:

✔️ Tenderness or soreness
✔️ Swelling or fullness
✔️ More visible veins
✔️ Darkening of the ni***es and areolas
✔️ Increased sensitivity to touch

To help ease discomfort, try:

👙 Wearing a supportive, well-fitting bra (including a sleep bra if needed)
🧊 Applying cool compresses for relief
👕 Choosing soft, breathable fabrics
💧 Staying hydrated and maintaining good posture

While breast tenderness is common, it's important to let your clinician know if you notice:

• A new lump that doesn't go away
• Redness or warmth in one area of the breast
• Fever or flu-like symptoms
• Ni**le discharge that's bloody or occurs before delivery

Your body is doing incredible work to prepare for your baby's arrival—and breast changes are one of the many signs that it's adapting to support your growing little one. 🤍

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A little reminder to prioritize yourself. If you’re due for your screening mammogram, take this as your sign to schedule it. For those at average risk for breast cancer, the American College of OBGYN recommends an annual mammogram from age 40 on. Early detection matters, and taking care of your health is always worth it. 💗

🤰Growing a baby can slow down more than just your pace - it can slow down your digestion, too!

Thanks to pregnancy hormones (especially progesterone), food moves more slowly through your digestive tract. As your baby grows, your uterus also puts added pressure on your stomach and intestines.

The result? Many moms-to-be experience:

✔️ Constipation
✔️ Heartburn or acid reflux
✔️ Bloating and gas
✔️ Feeling full more quickly

The good news is that a few simple habits can help:

🥗 Eat fiber-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains.
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🚶 Stay active with regular exercise, such as brisk walking, yoga, or time in the gym.
🍽️ Try smaller, more frequent meals if heartburn is an issue.

While digestive changes are common during pregnancy, severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or not having bowel movements for days at a time should always be discussed with your healthcare provider.

One of the sweetest parts of pregnancy is feeling your baby move 💕

As your pregnancy progresses, you'll become familiar with your baby's normal movement patterns. Most women begin to feel fetal movement around 20 weeks – some earlier and some a bit later. By the third trimester, we expect you to feel your baby move everyday, throughout the day. If you notice a significant decrease in movement, don't ignore it.

If something feels different, contact your provider right away. We are here for you and your growing baby!
