📢 Important Medicare Update for Bulk-Billed Patients

From 1 July 2026, Medicare is introducing changes to the Assignment of Benefit (AoB) process for all bulk-billed services.

Patients will now be required to provide consent for each bulk-billed consultation, either electronically or using a paper form. This change aims to improve security, streamline Medicare claiming, and enhance patient awareness of the bulk billing process.

At Classic Way Family Practice, we are committed to making this transition as simple and convenient as possible. In most cases, you may receive an Assignment of Benefit form by SMS or email, which can be completed before, during, or after your consultation. Paper forms will also remain available if preferred.

Change in pathology service - 4Cyte Pathology commencing at Classic Way Family Practice from 1 June

from 1st of june, Clinical Labs will come to an end, and 4Cyte Pathology will begin providing pathology services from our practice.There will be no interruption to pathology services during this transition. Patients can continue to attend the practice for pathology collection as usual.

Our current pathology opening hours will remain unchanged:

Monday to Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm [to be confirmed]

We have chosen to work with 4Cyte Pathology because they share a similar ethos to our practice — providing accessible, patient-focused healthcare with a strong commitment to bulk billing.

As part of our continued focus on convenient, affordable care, we are also pleased to offer additional bulk-billed services at Classic Way Family Practice, including:

Bulk-billed ECGs
Bulk-billed Holter monitoring
Bulk-billed 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
