You might need to hear this today… 🤍

You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to outgrow things that no longer feel aligned.
You are allowed to rest without needing to justify it.
You are allowed to protect your peace, even if others don’t understand it.
You are allowed to need support without feeling like a burden.
And on the days things feel heavy, your worth has never depended on how productive, positive, or “together” you are.

You are still worthy, even on the days you don’t feel your best

What actually happens in the first therapy session?

The first session isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about creating a space where you don’t have to carry things alone.

Usually, your therapist will:
- get to know you and what brought you in
- ask about your current challenges and goals
- explore your history, supports, and coping strategies
- explain confidentiality and how sessions work
- answer any questions you might have

You don’t need to know exactly what to say.
You don’t need a “good enough” reason to be there.

And you definitely don’t need to open up about everything immediately.

The first session is simply the beginning of feeling supported

Burnout doesn’t always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like functioning on the outside while quietly struggling underneath.

Burnout can show up emotionally as:
-feeling detached from yourself or others
-low patience for things that normally wouldn’t bother you
-constant dread before everyday tasks
-emotional numbness or feeling “flat”
-crying more easily than usual
-feeling guilty for resting or slowing down

Your mind and body were never designed to run on survival mode forever.
Rest isn’t something you have to earn, and support isn’t something you have to justify

Avoiding difficult thoughts or feelings can sometimes feel safer in the moment. But carrying everything alone can become exhausting too.

Talking about it doesn’t create the pain - it creates space to process it, understand it, and feel less alone in it.

You don’t have to share everything all at once.

And you don’t have to be “ready enough” to deserve support 🤍

What if anxiety isn’t predicting the future...
But trying to protect you from uncertainty?
And what if you didn’t have to believe every thought to move forward?

What clients want to say: “I am absolutely not coping.”
What clients actually say:” Hey, just wondering if you have any availability at the moment?” 🫠

Rephrases we can support with:
“I’m overwhelmed” → “I’m fine, just tired.”
“I can’t keep doing this” → “Things have been a bit stressful lately.”
“I’ve been crying all week” → “I think I might need some support.”
“My anxiety is ruining my life” → “I’ve been a little anxious recently.”

You don’t need the “perfect” words to reach out. 🤍

The version of you from 5 years ago would be proud that…

You kept going through the days you thought would break you.
You survived moments you never thought you’d get through.
You learned that boundaries are necessary, not selfish.
You started asking for support instead of carrying everything alone.
You stopped shrinking yourself to make others comfortable.

And despite everything… you’re still trying.

Growth doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like quietly refusing to give up on yourself.

Take a moment to recognise how far you’ve come 🤍

May can feel like a fresh start, a busy season, a hard season, or all three at once.
Whatever this month looks like for you, here are a few gentle reminders to carry with you. 🤍

You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You’re allowed to slow down.
Small steps still count.
Rest is productive too.

And you deserve the same kindness you give to everyone else.

Saving this as your reminder for the month ahead 🌿

Trauma doesn’t always look the way people expect.
It’s not just something that happened in the past.

It can show up in your body, in your breathing, your tension, your sense of safety.

You might feel “on edge”…
even when nothing is actually happening.

And that can be confusing.
Exhausting.
Easy to dismiss.
But this isn’t you being dramatic.

This is your nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do — protect you.

The problem is, sometimes it doesn’t switch off when the danger has passed.

That’s where support can make a difference.
Not by forcing it away, but by helping your system feel safe again.
If this resonates, it might be worth checking in with yourself a little more gently today 🤍

We’re here when you’re ready.
