What type of back pain are you experiencing?

Back pain isn't one-size-fits-all. Understanding the type of pain you have is the first step toward managing it.

πŸ€” Non-specific low back pain
Around 8 in 10 cases fall into this category, where there's no single identifiable cause. Often linked to muscles, joints or everyday strain.

⚑ Acute back pain
Short-term pain that can come on suddenly, often from lifting, movement or minor injury.

⏳ Chronic back pain
Pain that persists for 12 weeks or more, sometimes continuing even after the initial cause has resolved.

➑️ Referred or radiating pain
Pain that travels, such as down the leg, often linked to nerve involvement.

🧠 Back pain doesn't just affect the body - it can also impact mental wellbeing, contributing to stress, fatigue and reduced quality of life.

Understanding your pain is the first step to getting back to feeling good.

You probably don’t think twice about grabbing your bag as you leave the house. Same shoulder, same side, same habit you’ve had for years. But that routine β€” repeated hundreds of times β€” may be quietly reshaping the way your body holds itself, and not for the better.

In the modern day, when the allure of technology can be strong, it’s important to ensure your child gets at least 60 minutes of exercise a day! Not only is this key to their physical health, but also their mental wellbeing. It doesn’t need to be intense β€” try walking to school together in the morning or playing a game of catch after school. Small steps can make a big difference! 🎾 For more tips, visit www.backtoschool.org.au

Classrooms today are worlds apart from what we remember! Technology is as commonplace today as the chalkboard was then. πŸ“±πŸ’» To balance this, it’s important your child reduces their screen time when at home and gets outside to enjoy some outdoor play in the fresh air! 🌿🌞 When they do use devices, remind them to maintain correct posture and position screens at eye-level where possible, to avoid β€˜tech neck’.
