Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) is often referred to as the herb that can help a woman “possess a hundred husbands” — and this poetic phrase comes from its Sanskrit name:
Shatavari = “she who has a hundred husbands”
(Shata = hundred, vari = husbands or “to possess”)
Why this name?
In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Shatavari is considered the queen of women’s herbs because it:
Balances female hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone)
Supports fertility and healthy reproductive cycles
Improves vaginal lubrication
