Proserpine Nursing Home would like to wish our amazing Enrolled Nurse, Lorraine, a wonderful 70th birthday. 🎂 🥳

For those who don’t know, Proserpine Nursing Home opened 40 years ago. Lorraine has been with us for 39 of those years.

Her dedication, support and love for the home and its residents have shone through every one of those years.
Balancing her nursing career while raising her young family — who also spent time here — has shown just how compassionate and family-focused she is to everyone who comes through our doors.

On behalf of everyone here, Lorraine, we wish you all the best on this milestone birthday.

The past few weeks have seen an unprecedented level of activity and engagement within our community.
Residents enjoyed several social outings, including morning teas at local cafes, lunch excursions, and scenic drives.
In-house activities were equally robust, featuring craft sessions, tomato chutney making, happy hour, and an armchair travel experience focused on Switzerland.
Our weekly men's group is proving to be a great success, our Acting GM Camo showed wonderful support for our group by joining in on one of the Friday afternoon sessions.
We concluded our monthly schedule with a birthday celebration for Carolyn.
Additionally, our Christmas in July event was a tremendous success. We extend our sincere gratitude to those who generously donated prizes and purchased tickets. All proceeds will be reinvested directly into the facility to fund future resident activities.

It has been another wonderful, busy few weeks here at PNH! Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including our weekly bingo and hoy, toss the dice, the balloon bucket challenge, Jill's painting group, a delicious pancake brunch, and happy hour. We also proudly launched our very first weekly Men’s Group session.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible nursing team, who continuously help bring residents along to join in the fun. We especially appreciate your support on Friday, which saw some familiar faces returning to the activities room after some time away.

We would also like to extend a massive thank you to the Choral C singers for performing over the school holidays. Singing along to those classic, old-time songs is always a highlight of our morning.

Finally, we apologise for the lack of photos in this update, as a few of our lifestyle team members have been away enjoying well-deserved holidays!
