Pilates isn’t just about what you do on the reformer. It’s about building strength and control that carry over into everyday life!

Here are 3 examples of how common reformer exercises translate into movements you use every day:

Single-Leg Footwork β†’ Climbing Stairs πŸͺœ
Single-leg footwork challenges each leg individually, helping build the strength and control you need to push yourself up a step.

Lunges β†’ Bending Down to Pick Something Up πŸ‹οΈ
Lunges train your legs and hips while challenging your balance and control, skills that come in handy when reaching down to pick something up.

Serve the Tray β†’ Lifting Something Heavy Overhead ✈️
This movement works on shoulder and upper-body strength while challenging your core control, similar to lifting a heavy suitcase into an overhead compartment.

The goal isn’t just to get stronger on the reformer. It’s to move with more confidence in real life.

Sometimes it’s the little things at home, like a loose rug, a tricky step, or a cluttered walkway, that can make trips or falls more likely. 🦢

A few simple changes, plus the right support for balance and movement, can help you feel more confident getting around.

πŸ‘‰ Our Fall Prevention program is designed to spot everyday risks and help you build the skills you need to move more safely at home.

Sometimes the best thing you can do after hours at a screen is simply move for a few minutes. πŸͺ‘

Walk, stretch, dance, do a quick cardio break, whatever gets you out of the same position for a bit.

πŸ’Ύ Save this as your reminder to fit in a little movement between tasks.

Sciatica can make everyday things like sitting at your desk, getting out of the car, or bending to tie your shoes feel way more noticeable than they should.

A few things can make a difference:
Don’t:
πŸ™… Force stretches or exercises that send pain further down the leg.
πŸ™… Stay in one position for too long just because it feels familiar.

Do:
πŸ™† Keep moving within a comfortable range and change positions regularly.
πŸ™† Pay attention to which movements ease or increase your symptoms.

If that leg pain keeps showing up or is affecting your routine, it may be worth having us take a closer look and help you figure out what’s going on.
