โจ STAFF SPOTLIGHT โจ
This week, weโre shining the spotlight on the wonderful Roxy, our Activities Coordinator here at Ty Hafod! ๐งก
๐ A Cornish bundle of energy, weโre so glad she found her way to our Ty Hafod family!
Roxy has been part of the Ty Hafod team for 7 months, bringing with her an incredible 11 years of experience in care. Her experience includes working with end-of-life paediatric patients, supporting adults with autism, and working as a Falls Responder with St John Ambulance Cymru. ๐งก
๐ฌ What drew Roxy to working in care?
Roxy says:
โFrom a young age, Iโve always wanted to give back to people. I lost someone special to me when I was 15 so being able to give love and care to families in need means a lot to me.โ โค๏ธ
โค๏ธ The best part of her job?
Creating person-centred activities and spending 1:1 time with every resident, getting to know their individual likes, dislikes and interests.
๐ฅฃ A moment that has stayed with her:
A resident at a previous home thanked Roxy for treating her with respect and for being someone she felt she could open up to. ๐
๐ฃ๏ธ How would her colleagues describe her?
Bubbly. Loud. Talkative. Caring. ๐๐งก
๐ฏ Outside of work, Roxy is a woman of many passions!
๐ถ Concerts
๐๏ธ Shopping
๐ฐ Baking
๐ธ Bottomless brunches
โ Tea or coffee?
Neither! ๐
๐ Fun fact: Roxy is currently learning Welsh so she can chat with our residents and have conversations with them in Welsh. ๐ฅฐ
๐ฌ The motto that sums Roxy up perfectly?
โLife is too short, so live it like itโs your last.โ โจ
Roxy, thank you for the love, creativity, energy and care you pour into every activity and event. Ty Hafod is so lucky to have you! ๐๐งก
