On World Arthritis Day, a reminder: if you or someone you know is dealing with joint pain or stiffness, you're not alone.

Morning stiffness is one of the most common experiences for people living with arthritis. It can make the start of the day feel harder than it should, but small, gentle habits can make a real difference.

Beyond the tips, today is about awareness. The more we talk about arthritis, the better we understand it, and the closer we get to a future where it is more preventable, more manageable and more treatable.

At Relive, we're proud to be part of that conversation. Through education, expert care and events that bring our community together, we want everyone living with arthritis to feel informed, supported and able to keep doing the things they love.

Got Achilles pain and wondering if you have to stop training? In most cases, you don't.

When someone comes to us with Achilles pain that's more than a niggle, one of the first things they ask is "do I have to stop exercising?" For most people (with a few exceptions) the answer is no. We just need to adjust what you're doing so you can keep moving while the tendon recovers.

In this video we show three swaps:

Lunges vs box step ups
Heel raises vs lateral box step ups
Bridges vs band-restricted lateral box step ups

Each pair shows how the same movement can be made easier on the Achilles by changing the load and range, or made more challenging as you build back up. A movement that felt irritating can often become comfortable and useful again.

If an exercise is still painful, don't push through it. It may not be right for you at the moment, but there's usually another option that is.

At Relive, we help clients find the right balance between training and rehab. We adjust your current routine and give you a clear, specific plan to get you back to full strength. Our goal is to always keep you moving.

If we could choose just one stretch for plantar fasciitis, we'd start with the calf. 🦢

Tight calf muscles can contribute to increased stress through the foot and ankle, which is why calf stretching can be a useful part of managing plantar fasciitis.

In this simple stretch:
Keep your back leg straight
Keep both feet flat on the ground
Gently move forwards until you feel a strong but comfortable stretch
Hold for 15–20 seconds
Relax and repeat 3 times

As always, don't force the stretch or push through significant pain. Start comfortably and gradually progress as your mobility improves.

Want more guidance on what you can do for plantar fasciitis? We've covered calf stretching, heel raises and mini squats in our full YouTube tutorial.

Running injuries often come down to three things: not being strong enough, doing too much too soon, and ignoring the warning signs.

Running puts a lot of repetitive load through your muscles, tendons and joints, so building the right foundations can make a big difference.

Strengthening your calves, glutes and hips at least twice a week helps your body handle the demands of running and gives you a stronger base to work from.

When increasing your mileage, build gradually and give your body time to adjust. Avoid sudden jumps in distance or cramming extra training into your week, especially when you're working towards a race.

And pay attention to those little niggles. It’s easy to brush off a small ache and carry on, but early problems are much easier to address than injuries that have had time to develop.

Give your body the strength, time and attention it needs, and you’ll give yourself the best chance of keeping those miles pain-free.

Thank you Portal Golf Club for a great afternoon πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ

We spent it with club members talking through injury prevention, individual gait, and balance, all things which can affect how your body holds up over 18 holes. Instability can often be where a lot of golfing injuries start. Using foot scans to look at gait and balance in detail, we showed how getting your footing right can make a real difference to both comfort and performance.

This is everything Relive is about: bringing real, usable knowledge to the people who need it so they can keep doing all the things they love to do.

If you are part of a club, team or group, whether it's golf, running, football, bowls, or anything else, we would love to bring something similar to your members. Every talk is tailored to what matters most to them, completely free of charge.

Together, we can prevent injuries so that you can hurt less and play golf more.

What makes a Runner's MOT different?

It's a complete picture of how your body runs, and what it needs to stay successful.

We start by understanding your body's capabilities: what it does well, and where it needs support.

Then we look at posture, movement, balance and strength as a whole, because running injuries rarely start where they show up.

We also perform a detailed gait analysis to see exactly how you move, stride by stride.

Everything we find becomes a personalised plan, built around you and your running goals.

Whether you're dealing with a niggle, coming back from injury, or simply want to run stronger for longer, it's a proper look at what's really going on.

Balance can be built, supported, and strengthened at any age.

As we age, small changes in balance, strength, and reaction time can add up, but there's plenty we can do to stay steady on our feet.

One of those steps? The Liberty Patch. Worn daily, its ridged contours are designed to activate what the brand calls a "neural response benefit" through neuromatrix haptics, supporting better balance, stability, and mobility as you move through your day.

As we recognise Falls Prevention Awareness Week, come and see us at Relive to find out how the Liberty Patch fits into a wider falls prevention plan.

Did you know that 1 in 4 older adults fall each year? Yet only half tell their doctor? (National Council on Aging)

As we age, balance, strength, and reaction time naturally start to shift, but the good news is that all three can be trained at any stage of life.

Balance keeps you steady on uneven ground. Strength gives your body the power to catch itself when it wobbles. Reaction time is what turns a stumble into a save, not a fall.

At Relive, we work with people of all ages to build all three through tailored exercise programmes, movement assessments, and one-to-one physiotherapy that meets you where you are.

This Falls Prevention Awareness Week, everyone can take proactive steps to stay steady on their feet.

Every runner's journey looks a little different, but the road map is often the same.

It usually starts with a niggle. Maybe some stiffness, a change in how a run feels, or that nagging sense something isn't quite right. That awareness is the first step.

From there, a Runner's MOT gives us the full picture: your stride pattern, how your hips, knees and ankles are controlling each stride, whether your footwear is helping or hindering, and how your form holds up when fatigue kicks in.

Then comes the work: steady strength training, gradual progression, and a plan built around your goals.

The result? Running that feels stronger, more confident, and more resilient because you understand your body and it's working with you, not against you.

Wherever you are on that road map, we're here to help you move through it.
