Last week, we came together across our residences to celebrate the people at the heart of Loveday.

Across three summer parties, our teams had the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together and celebrate everything they have achieved.

It was a chance to say thank you for the dedication, care and hard work our teams bring every day. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do for our residents, their families and one another.

A wonderful week of celebration, with thanks and gratitude.

We are delighted to share that our Executive Chef, Matthew Dodge, has been selected as a finalist in the NACC Care Chef of the Year 2026 competition.

The NACC Care Chef of the Year competition celebrates the very best culinary talent across the care sector, recognising chefs who combine nutritional expertise with a person-centred approach to dining. Reaching the final is a significant achievement, particularly given the exceptionally high standard of this year's competition.

At Loveday, exceptional dining is part of the everyday experience, bringing residents together and creating meaningful moments. Matt's passion and commitment to creating outstanding menus are reflected in every dish he prepares, making this recognition thoroughly deserved.

We are incredibly proud to see his talent recognised on a national stage and wish him every success as he competes in the final at Loughborough College on 14th October.

June has been a wonderful month across our Loveday residences. ☀️

From enjoying neighbourhood walks in the summer sunshine and celebrating Trooping the Colour with our neighbours, the Chelsea Pensioners, to gardening, cocktail making, Pimm's afternoons with live music, Father's Day celebrations, a cheese soufflé workshop inspired by one of our residents' family recipes, and a special pet portrait session at Abbey Road, every activity has been thoughtfully designed around our residents and the moments they enjoy most.

Nutrition plays a far greater role in wellbeing than many people realise. It influences strength, mobility, energy levels and long-term health, while also supporting recovery following illness or treatment.
