June 5 is HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day.

Today, we honor the people whose stories carry memory, advocacy, grief, resilience, and the power of still being here.

Long-term survival is more than a diagnosis.
It is a life.
A legacy.
A reminder that care must continue across generations.

Drew CARES honors HIV long-term survivors today and every day.

The language we use around HIV can either build trust or create stigma.

Terms like “clean,” “dirty,” “risky lifestyle,” or “infected person” can make people feel judged before they ever seek care.

Better conversations start with language rooted in respect, accuracy, and empathy.

Say it with care.
Say it with respect.
Say it in a way that keeps people connected to support.
