As part of Portland Rose Festival, we had the honor and privilege of hosting our friends from U.S. Navy Region Northwest. This executive engagement was arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO’s) General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) team and gave active duty soldiers a first-hand look at the services we provide. We had such an amazing Hospital Week here at Shriners Children's Portland to celebrate our incredible staff members. There was a traveling treat cart, an in-house mini-golf tournament, plant giveaway, live bingo, a dirty soda bar, Aloha Friday with shave ice and more! Just a small showing of our appreciation for all that you do!

May is National Neurofibromatosis (NF) Month, and we would like you to meet Travis, a former patient and current member of our Patient Alumni network, in his own words.

"Shriners Children's has been instrumental in helping me navigate and understand my condition to better fight it and live with it. The staff are unlike any hospital I’ve been to; their compassion and love for kids and teens shows every day, and I’m beyond thankful for them. Although living with NF1 has always been a challenge through dozens of surgeries, new conditions arising from the NF1, vision problems, migraines, tumor pain and more, I can still say that I’m blessed more than I deserve." 💪💪💪

As part of our commitment to continuing education, Shriners Children's recently hosted the annual Dillehunt Memorial Lectureship, featuring guest professor Ilkka Helenius, M.D. from Helsinki, Finland. It was a great day of sharing, learning and networking!
