Still trying to understand how to best support your child this school year?

A thoughtful assessment can bring clarity to how they learn, where they may be struggling, and what can help them move forward with confidence. The right answers can make all the difference.

Looking for a fun way to help your child build confidence before school starts?

We have a few spots left in our Friendship Lab summer camp for the weeks of July 20 to 24 and July 27 to 31!

Designed for kids entering grades 3 to 5, this small group camp helps children strengthen social skills, build friendships, and gain confidence through games and guided activities.

Some kids work twice as hard as everyone else just to get through a regular school day.

They may be bright, curious, and capable, but something isn't clicking. Homework takes hours. Mornings are exhausting. Emotions run high. Parents are left wondering whether it's ADHD, anxiety, a learning difference, giftedness, or something else entirely.

A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment doesn't just put a label on those challenges. It helps explain why they're happening and what to do next.

When things finally make sense, it's easier to make decisions, advocate at school, support your child at home, and move forward with confidence.

Summer is often the ideal time for an assessment, giving families time to understand their child's learning profile and put recommendations in place before the school year begins. If you're already thinking ahead to next year, this is also a good time to get on the schedule.

If you've been wondering whether an assessment is the right next step, we're always happy to answer your questions.

We traded assessment tools for puzzle clues this afternoon!

To celebrate the end of the training year, our practicum students and supervisors headed to Escapology Pasadena for an afternoon of teamwork and problem solving.

We’re grateful for the curiosity, dedication, and growth our trainees bring to Insight Collective each year. Thank you for being part of our learning community. Here’s to a well deserved summer and the next step in your professional journey!

What happens when symptoms are real, but medical testing doesn’t provide a clear explanation?

This week, our graduate students had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Kelsey Hawthorne about Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition involving genuine neurological symptoms that occur without structural damage to the nervous system.

The discussion highlighted the complex relationship between the brain and body and the importance of thoughtful, interdisciplinary care.

Thank you to Dr. Hawthorne for sharing her expertise and clinical insights with our trainees.

We were also delighted to welcome back Dr. Harrell, former Insight Collective Postdoctoral Fellow and Clinician, who joined the presentation as a mentor.

Experiences like these help prepare future clinicians to approach complex presentations with curiosity, compassion, and clinical rigor.

One of the most meaningful parts of our work is watching students begin to see themselves differently.

Insight Collective Academy is an afterschool program for SPUSD students going into grades 2-5. It is designed for bright, complex learners who benefit from individualized support, small class sizes, executive functioning support, and a learning environment that helps them build confidence alongside academic skills.

Enrollment for the 2026–2027 academic year is now open.

We’re incredibly grateful to have had educational attorney Michelle Becker join us today for a didactic training with our graduate students at Insight Collective.

Michelle shared valuable insight into understanding IEPs more deeply and how thoughtful, clinically-grounded report writing can better support advocacy for children and families.

Opportunities like this are such an important part of our training program and reflect our commitment to helping future clinicians think collaboratively, practically, and compassionately about the real world impact of their work.

Thank you, Michelle, for such a meaningful and engaging learning experience.

Understanding how your child learns can make a meaningful difference.

If things haven’t been adding up this school year, a neuropsychological assessment can help you better understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and learning profile, along with clear recommendations for next steps.

Summer is a good time to get that clarity and plan ahead for the next school year.

If you’ve been considering an evaluation, we’re here to help.

A fun night out supporting South Pasadena schools at the SPEF partigras fundraiser this weekend 🌓 🦩

Grateful to be part of a community that shows up for its students, teachers, and families.

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to host our annual free Reading Screener Event alongside our partners at Lindamood-Bell and Woodsmall Law Group and we continue to be moved by the impact these events can have for families.

We were able to meet with so many children and parents, provide greater clarity around reading and learning challenges, and help families better understand what may be contributing to their child’s struggles.

For many families, the most meaningful part is finally having a direction forward.

Thank you to everyone who participated and trusted us with your children and questions. We look forward to offering this free community event each year and are already excited to do it again next year.
