🌟Electronic Prescription Service goes live today, 3rd June at Llanishen Court Surgery.

This means our GPs will no longer have to physically print, sign and generate green paper prescription forms. The prescription will be sent electronically from the surgery to the pharmacy and will remove the need for patients /pharmacies to pick up repeat prescriptions from the surgery reception.

By us moving to electronic prescriptions this should save time, help save the NHS money, enable us to be more ecofriendly by reducing paper and provide us with a fully auditable system enabling us to track your prescription.

When you next visit your local pharmacy to collect your medications, please ask the pharmacy about how to nominate them which will allow you to receive your electronic prescriptions from today.

Make sure you keep yourself hydrated in the heat. Symptoms of dehydration in adults and children include:

💧Feeling dizzy or lightheaded
💧Feeling tired
💧A dry mouth, lips and eyes
💧Peeing little, and fewer than 4 times a day
💧Dark yellow and strong-smelling p*e

To reduce the risk of dehydration in hot weather, drink more fluids than usual. It’s better to take small sips more often. You should drink enough during the day so your p*e is a pale clear colour.
Look out for those who may struggle to keep cool and hydrated - older people, those with underlying health conditions and those who live alone are particularly at risk.

Your Community Pharmacy can help you if you have dehydration.

If you run out of prescribed medicine and can’t get a prescription before your next dose, you may be able to obtain an emergency supply from a pharmacy.

You should take an old prescription/repeat slip or the medicine packaging with you to the pharmacy, if you have it.
