💜 The Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI) Annual Conference 2026 was one of our biggest and best ever! With well over 550 Delegates, Members, Exhibitors, and Guests in attendance we were so proud to host the people that drive the nursing home sector in Ireland forward everyday – ensuring the provision of top-quality, person centred, and choice led care for older people in every parish, village, town and city in Ireland.
💫Guided by the theme: Shaping the Future of Care: Integration, Innovation, and Inspiration the NHI Annual Conference 2026 heard from experts from across the entire nursing home sector, the health and social care sector, architecture/design, and academia - as well as experts in energy, sustainability, and statistics.
💡From the importance of nutrition to the older person and how to address the challenges associated with recruitment and retention, to futureproofing our nursing homes energy efficiency, sustainability, and structural design – it is clear to see that despite the challenges that face us on the road ahead, there are solutions, and opportunities to grow, especially if we meet these challenges together!
🎤 The NHI Annual Conference 2026 also heard our CEO Tadhg Daly call on the Government, and An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, to convene a National Dialogue on Ageing without delay!
🗣 As Tadhg said; “Ageing is not a crisis. It is one of Ireland's greatest achievements. But failing to prepare for it would be a national policy failure that cannot be countenanced”, he then called on Government, and indeed all of society to; “seize the opportunity while we still can, to ensure that we support our population to age in whichever way they choose”.
