We had an incredible July summer camp! We did arts and crafts, science experiments, games, sensory activities and lots of playing! Camps are a great way to learn cooperation, play and social skills, and following group instructions.

We look forward to our next camp week in August!

Let’s work on social emotional skills! At CORE, we learn social emotional skills through lessons, video modelling, interactive games and activities, visual supports, social stories, social scenarios, role play, and real social interactions! And don’t forget lots of positive reinforcement 🙌🏻

Whether it’s early social skills like parallel and cooperative play, requesting from peers, turn taking and sharing, and tolerating losing and not getting your way, or more advanced social skills like conversation skills, understanding nonverbal communication, adjusting your behaviour to different situations, social circles, building and maintaining friendships, advocating for yourself, compromising and perspective taking, we do it all!

We are loving the warmer weather! It’s great to get outside and get messy and learn through play!

Congratulations to Hunter for finishing her masters in applied behaviour analysis, passing her exam and officially becoming a Registered Behaviour Analyst!
Hunter works diligently everyday supporting our clients and their families, through the design and implementation of individualized intervention plans. She also works to support our team of therapists and keep the centre running smoothly. We can’t wait to see her continue to grow in her new role!

Let’s learn to play and work together! Early play skills involve parallel play, tolerating others touching the items you are using, turn taking, and giving items to and accepting items from others. Play and teamwork can happen even without vocal language!

This spinning chair has been quite popular with our kiddos! It’s a great resource for kids who need the vestibular input, and can aid with regulation.
