MensCraft

MensCraft From adolescence to older age, we support men through life’s complexities, whether that’s navigating fatherhood, retirement, or times of stress and crisis.

Our work includes personalised one-to-one support, group sessions and links to specialist services. MensCraft supports boys and men of all ages. We offer information, activities and programmes to meet the challenges of each different life stage. Our approach is strengths based and promotes the values of positive masculinity and gender equality. We support young men making the transition to adultho

od; men as fathers and those experiencing difficulties for example in their family lives or with their mental health. We provide one-to-one support and access to other specialist services. Our range of activities give boys and men purpose, the opportunity for connection with others, and opportunities for improved wellbeing.

At MensCraft, we advocate for and deliver an approach known as lifestyle medicine. It’s rooted in a simple idea: many of the factors that shape our physical and mental health happen in our everyday lives, not in clinics or hospitals. Read the article below 👇

Fatherhood comes with its ups and downs. Whether you're going through separation or family struggles, becoming a father or working to strengthen your relationship with your children, we are here to support you.

Dads Onside provides practical and emotional support for fathers in Norfolk at every stage of fatherhood. Through one-to-one sessions, group activities and tailored programmes, we help men build confidence, develop positive parenting skills and maintain meaningful connections with their children.

Our drop-in service for fathers offers 30-minute appointments based on availability, in order of arrival. No need to pre-book, just turn up. All the dates for our Norwich and Great Yarmouth drop-ins are here. For other one-to-one and group support opportunities, see our website for details: https://menscraft.org.uk/what-we-offer/referrals-support/dads-onside/

It's feeling hot, hot, hot in our main activity space at 35 Bishopgate, Norwich. We've made the decision to move today's activities downstairs and cancel those happening on Thursday and Friday to keep our members and staff safe.

There is lots of guidance for staying cool during a heatwave available online; please read and follow it. For non-emergency medical advice or concerns, you can contact your local health services, such as calling 111 in the UK, or consult the NHS Heatstroke Guide for more information: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/heat-exhaustion-heatstroke/

In an emergency, call 999.

We're incredibly grateful to the People's Health Trust for their support. Last year, they came to visit us at The Woodland Project, our six-week outdoor programme that connects men with nature, with themselves and with others, and also the Norwich Pit Stop, where Colin Howey summed up what we're all about: providing brave spaces for men to take off their metaphorical armour and be their authentic self.

Above all, thanks to Saul and Adam for telling their stories. It takes guts to open up, but there's nothing more powerful for a man who might be struggling than to hear from others who have been there that it can - and does - get better.

The proposed social media ban for under-16s is a positive step towards protecting children from harmful online content. But restricting access alone won’t address the loneliness, disconnection and uncertainty that can draw young people into damaging online spaces.

If we want boys to thrive, we must create positive alternatives: places where they feel seen, supported, connected and able to build healthy identities for the future.

It's Men's Health Week. We know that good health is about more than prescriptions and appointments. It’s about how we live, connect, move, eat, rest and spend our time.

Our approach is rooted in lifestyle medicine – an evidence-based way of improving health and wellbeing through practical, everyday actions. Whether it’s getting active, cooking healthier meals, spending time outdoors, building supportive relationships or finding ways to manage stress, these simple changes can have a powerful impact on both physical and mental health.

By supporting men like John make sustainable changes that work for them, we can improve wellbeing, prevent future health problems and help men lead happier, healthier, more connected lives.
