Not all therapy works the same way. Top-down approaches help us understand and change our thoughts, while bottom-up approaches help our nervous systems feel safe enough for lasting healing, many people benefit from a combination of both.

“PTSD is often associated with flashbacks and nightmares, but it can show up in many different ways.

PTSD doesn’t always look the way it does in movies. Many people continue working, caring for others, and moving through daily life while carrying the invisible weight of trauma.

Healing is possible, and support is available. You don’t have to carry it alone.”

HAPPY PRIDE!!

Finding LGBTQ+ community in rural Appalachia can be hard.

Many q***r people find themselves feeling isolated, even when surrounded by others. But once you find people who understand you, who see you, and who allow you to be fully yourself, it can be life-changing.

Community doesn't have to look one specific way. It might be one close friend, a support group, a partner, or a gathering of people who simply get it.

Whatever it looks like, connection matters. Q***r Appalachians have always existed and will continue to exist. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

There’s something special about small, community-based care.

At MindBody Wellness, our team believes that smaller practices create space for deeper connection, more personalized support, and a more meaningful experience for both clients and clinicians. From the environment we create to the way we care for our community, every detail is intentional.

We’re proud to be a local practice built by people who genuinely care about the individuals and families we serve.

Thank you for supporting local, healing local, and growing with us.

Women’s mental health is shaped by many different factors, including hormones, life transitions, trauma, masking, societal expectations, and neurodivergence.
These conversations matter because many women spend years feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or unsupported before finally finding answers and care that fits their experiences.

This Women’s Health Month, we want to help normalize conversations about:
• ADHD and autism in women
• Perimenopause and hormonal changes
• Trauma and mental health
• Masking and late diagnosis
• The emotional impact of societal pressures

You are not “too sensitive,” “too emotional,” or “just stressed.” Your experiences are real, and support matters.

Save this post for later, share it with someone who may relate, and help continue breaking the stigma around women’s mental health.
