Self-compassion is often misunderstood as weakness, avoidance, or “letting yourself off the hook.”

But for many people, being hard on yourself was something you learned in order to survive.

Maybe self-criticism felt motivating.
Maybe perfectionism helped you feel safer.
Maybe caring for everyone else felt more acceptable than caring for yourself. 🕊️

Self-compassion can feel unfamiliar when you’ve spent years believing you always had to do more, be more, or hold everything together alone.

Healing does not always begin with dramatic change.
Sometimes it begins with small moments of gentleness:
✨ resting
✨ asking for support
✨ honoring your limits
✨ speaking to yourself with more care
✨ allowing yourself to be human

You deserve compassion on the difficult days too — not only when you are productive, cheerful, or coping well. 🤍

Small acts of care still count.

Celebrating love, authenticity, and community together! 🌈✨

It was a beautiful day of celebration, and we loved sharing it with the wonderful Amanda from Lewis Counseling!
Building a supportive, inclusive network is essential, and we are grateful to celebrate love in all its forms together. 🗺️❤️

✨ “Therapy is only for people who are falling apart.”
✨ “If I need support, I must be weak.”
✨ “Healing should happen quickly.”
✨ “I have to explain my pain perfectly to deserve help.”
✨ “Therapists will judge me.”

So many people carry fears or misconceptions about therapy before ever stepping into the room.

The truth is: therapy is not about being “broken.” 🌿
It can be a space to feel seen, understood, supported, challenged gently, and more connected to yourself.

You do not have to wait until everything feels unbearable to deserve care.

Sometimes healing begins the moment we realize we were never meant to carry everything alone. 🕊️

What’s a therapy myth you once believed? 🤍

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable — especially when you don’t know what to expect. 🌿

A first session is usually less about “having everything figured out”
and more about beginning to build connection, comfort, and trust.

You might talk about:
🤍 what’s been weighing on you lately
🤍 what brought you to therapy
🤍 your hopes, fears, or questions about the process
🤍 what support could look like for you

There is no perfect way to show up.
You do not need to have the “right” words.
You are allowed to take your time.

The first session is also a chance to notice how the space feels for you.
Therapy works best when you feel emotionally safe, respected, and supported. 🕊️

🌈 Burnout is often connected to chronic stress, overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, or feeling constantly responsible for too much for too long.

You may notice:
• feeling drained by work or caregiving
• resentment or numbness
• difficulty resting even when tired
• feeling emotionally “used up”

🤍 Depression can affect many areas of life more globally and may include:
• persistent hopelessness
• loss of interest or pleasure
• shame or worthlessness
• difficulty imagining things getting better

Sometimes burnout and depression can overlap.
Sometimes one can lead into the other.

🌿 Neither experience means you are lazy, weak, or failing.

Your mind and body may be responding to prolonged stress, pain, overwhelm, or unmet needs the best way they can.

✨ Support does not need to wait until things become unbearable.

You deserve care before you completely run out of energy.
