Inside the Collective đŸ€

No two therapy rooms at The Wellness Collective look exactly the same—and we kind of love that.

Just like our clinicians bring their own personalities, specialties, and approaches to therapy, each space has a little personality of its own, too.

But no matter which room you find yourself in, our hope is the same: that you have a space where you can talk openly, ask questions, work through the hard stuff, celebrate the progress, and show up exactly where you are that day.

Because therapy doesn’t need to look one particular way to be meaningful.

đŸ€ Come on in.

For a holiday built around taking a break from work, some of us are remarkably bad at actually taking a break. 😅

There’s always something else that could be done.

One more email to answer.
One more load of laundry.
One more thing to cross off the list.

But your value isn’t determined by how productive you are, how busy you stay, or how much you accomplish in a day.

Rest has value, too.

So whether you’re off today, working today, caring for your family, catching up around the house, or doing absolutely nothing at all—we hope you find a little space to simply be.

And to everyone whose work keeps our communities going, today and every day: thank you.

Happy Labor Day from The Wellness Collective. đŸ€

Back to school can be exciting. It can also be
 a lot. 🎒

New routines, earlier alarms, packed schedules, homework, practices, drop-offs, new classrooms, new people—and suddenly everyone is expected to fall right back into a rhythm.

But transitions take time.

For kids and teens, that might look like bigger emotions, nervousness, exhaustion, or needing a little more reassurance.

For parents and caregivers, it might mean trying to keep everyone organized while adjusting your own schedule, too.

For teachers and school staff, it can mean going from summer straight into caring for the needs of a room full of people.

And for college students, it may mean navigating an entirely new level of independence and change.

So if this week feels a little messy, let it be an adjustment period.

The routine will come.

For now, you’re allowed to find your rhythm as you go. đŸ€

What’s the biggest adjustment to back-to-school season for you or your family?

We love a good support system. But your friends—even the therapist ones 😂—aren’t your therapist.

Having people you can call, vent to, laugh with, cry with, or send a “you will NOT believe what just happened” text to matters. Connection and community are an important part of our wellbeing.

But friendship and therapy offer two very different kinds of support.

Your friends know you personally. They love you. They have opinions. They’re part of your life and your relationships—and sometimes they’re right there in the middle of the story with you.

Therapy gives you something different.

It’s a space that’s intentionally yours. A therapist can help you slow things down, notice patterns, ask questions you may not have considered, build skills, and look at situations from a perspective that isn’t personally involved.

And sometimes that means hearing something other than:

“OMG. I KNOW. That’s exactly what I said!!” 😂

You don’t need to choose one or the other.

Good friends matter. Good therapists matter. And they have very different jobs. đŸ€

Some of the habits we’re hardest on ourselves for may have started as ways of getting through something.

Avoiding conflict may have kept the peace.

Doing everything yourself may have meant you didn’t have to depend on someone who might let you down.

Making everyone else happy may have helped you feel safe or accepted.

Laughing something off may have made it easier to carry.

The question isn’t always, “Why am I like this?”

Sometimes a more helpful question is:

“What did this do for me—and do I still need it?”

Growth doesn’t always mean becoming a completely different person. Sometimes it means recognizing that something that once protected you doesn’t have to follow you forever.

đŸ€ What’s something you’ve learned to do differently as you’ve grown?

08/13/2026

Sometimes the story you’ve been telling as a joke
 wasn’t actually that funny. 😅

Humor can be an incredible way to cope. Sometimes laughing about something makes it easier to talk about, helps us create distance from something painful, or simply becomes the way we’ve learned to tell the story.

And then you tell that “funny story” in therapy and hear:

“I’m sorry that happened to you.”

oh. 👀

Sometimes it takes hearing our experiences reflected back to us to realize that something we normalized, minimized, or learned to laugh about actually affected us more than we thought.

That doesn’t mean the humor was wrong. Sometimes humor helped us get through it.

Therapy can give us a place to hold both things at once:

“I can laugh about this now.”

and

“That was really hard for me.”

Both can be true. đŸ€

Some things are simply outside of our control.

And yet, we can spend an incredible amount of energy trying to change them—what someone thinks of us, how they respond, something we wish we’d done differently, or an outcome we can’t predict.

When your mind starts trying to manage all of it, bring your focus back to what’s actually yours.

Your response.
Your boundaries.
Where you spend your energy.
Whether you ask for support.
The next choice you make.

You don’t have to figure out everything today.

Sometimes it’s enough to ask:

đŸ€ What’s actually mine to carry right now?

And maybe just as importantly

What isn’t?

Growth doesn’t mean waiting until everything is healed, settled, or figured out before you let yourself enjoy your life.

You can still be working through things and laugh until your stomach hurts.

You can be uncertain about what comes next and enjoy where you are right now.

You can have hard days and really good ones.

Life doesn’t have to be perfect before you’re allowed to be present for it.

đŸ€ What’s one good thing you’re letting yourself enjoy this weekend?
