Healing into Wholeness

Healing into Wholeness Healing into wholeness is a page that I created with the hope of bringing awareness to mental health and spiritual growth. Together we are very strong.

Please feel free to spread the love and healing that is at the crux of this page and my intention. This is an inspirational page stemming from the work I do as a psychotherapist in Portland, OR. I am passionate about growth work and see our task as taking the path of becoming conscious human beings, living with intention and finding our purpose and passion in this life we have been given. I am con

stantly inspired by the beauty and the suffering we encounter in our daily life. I would like to share my thoughts, my moments of awe and wonder with whomever might be called to read them and send me their own thoughts and realizations. This life we have been given is precious beyond measures, we just need to slow down enough to notice the many gifts, to take them in, and offer our own to add to the magnificent beauty we get to witness and embody. On another note I would like to let everybody know that none of the photos belong to me. When I know the source I make sure to give credit to the photographer or the original source. Same with the quotes, credit is always given when I do have the information. When you don't see any credit it is because I don't have this information. If you happen to have it and feel inclined to share it please do so.

"The two worst strategic mistakes to make are acting prematurely and letting an opportunity slip; to avoid this, the warrior treats each situation as if it were unique and never resorts to formulae, recipes or other people's opinions."

"There is a life-affirming spark within you which constantly nudges you towards saying yes to life. Create your “yes” list; a list of all the things you want to say” yes” to and be prepared to be amazed."

“Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves.” Brene Brown

“The Bushmen in the Kalahari Desert talk about the two "hungers". There is the Great Hunger and there is the Little Hunger. The Little Hunger wants food for the belly; but the Great Hunger, the greatest hunger of all, is the hunger for meaning...Once what you are doing has meaning for you, it is irrelevant whether you're happy or unhappy. You are content."—Sir Laurens Van Der Post

. Neutrality is NOT a Buddhist teaching. There is no neutral. The basis of the path is acknowledging that I have a position. That’s what mindfulness is. I have a location. I have karma. I have biases. I am part of an interdependent system. I am making choices, both consciously and unconsciously. Without acknowledging our relative position, the path can’t even start. Feigning neutrality is an obstacle. Neutrality is a confused view of reality. Equanimity is not neutrality. Compassion is not neutrality. Emptiness is not neutrality. The Middle Path is not neutrality. Those of us with privilege might do well to question why we ever thought neutrality was the goal.” Jack Kornfield

"I wonder if you know,
the work your body has done today.
And every day.
How much disease it has fought off.
How many times it could have failed but battled on,
how many ways it could have broken but did not.
I wonder if you know,
the work your body has done today.
And every day.
And each day it has done this amazing job,
without your help,
without your approval,
your acceptance,
your kindness.
Each day it has soldiered on,
regardless of the constant stream of negativity,
pulsing its way from your brain to your cells.
Not good enough.
Not attractive enough.
Not the right shape.
Perhaps it’s time to see your body for what it truly is,
An amazing and mind-blowingly competent machine.
To get your soul to where it needs to be in this life.
To let you live.
I wonder if you know,
how much better you would be as a team.
I wonder."
