Our rooftop garden.
At Crouched Friars we have 3 rooms that look out onto a mini rooftop garden. For safety reasons it is not an area that can be visited, however it is now a beautiful area to be enjoyed by the residents who occupy those rooms. Sharon, our activities coordinator saw an opportunity to create a wonderfully colourful area instead of a drab & empty space. Sharon removed the loose plaster, sealed and painted the brickwork. Fake grass was laid, pots and compost was bought. The plants that were kindly donated to us was planted up by some of our garden club members. All put together it makes a truly fabulous sight to look out to. The potted plants are now in full bloom and we can now show off the finished project.
It makes such a difference to residents' well being and here at Crouched Friars we are always coming up with ideas to improve the lives of our residents.

This morning we have ventured outside the home to our favourite cafe Crouch St. Bakes. We have ordered a variety of cakes, orange and almond, lemon, brownies and cookies and we enjoyed every single piece of it washing it down with tea and coffee.

Crouched Friars annual BBQ Garden Party was held recently and it was an absolute success. Everyone had a fantastic time; plenty of food, drink and music. We had garden games, a beach no less and a bouncy castle! It was so lovely to be able to bring everyone together. There was laughter, singing, dancing and lots of talk about memories and family fun.
It's so good to see so many happy faces.
Our raffle was a huge success raising over £300 for our "Residents' Fund", thankyou to all who donated prizes and bought tickets.
The band played some super songs for us and everyone joined in singing along.
Our party theme this year was Hawaiian and so many of you dressed up in such coloured outfits! The mens' shirts were something else! 💯🌸🏵🌴🌺🌼🍍🍉🏆⛱️🍹😁🥰
Many thanks to you all for attending and making it so much fun.

Crouched Friars Raffle!
Tomorrow we have a raffle with prizes that are absolutely amazing. Please remember to bring plenty of cash (coins preferably). Sharon will be organising the sale of tickets so just hunt her out! 😁
We are also looking for more prizes to add to our collection so if you can very kindly help us raise even more money for our "Residents' Fund" please bring it with you and hand to Sharon. We hope everyone can make it tomorrow, see you there! 😇

We recently had Colin visit us for a singalong which our residents absolutely loved. Here are some videos showing just how much fun they all had.

We would like to say a huge thank you for the donations of stones and money which we have put towards plants and pots. The front looks so nice now. We have placed the new bench there which was purchased from a donation from Jean’s family. Jean loved gardening and was always helping us with pruning and planting.

When the weather is great what do we do? We go outside of course! 😁
Georgia, one of our activity coordinators organised an afternoon lunchtime gathering. Some of our wonderful residents enjoyed a fish and chip lunch in the garden. What more do you want? We think they may want to do it again ☺️
